- WinJammer Version 2.10
- For Microsoft Windows 3.x
- (C) Dan McKee, 1992
-
- Welcome to the What's New file for WinJammer version 2.10. The major change
- to this release is that the driver has been updates for the Windows Multimedia
- Extensions which are included in the recently released Windows 3.1.
-
- Note that this version REQUIRES either Windows 3.0 with the Multimedia
- Extensions or Windows 3.1.
-
- What is New in Version 2.10
-
- In this file I will describe the bugs that were found in the previous versions.
- I will also describe the enhancements that went into Version 2.10. Thanks go
- out to all of you who sent me suggestions, as well as those who sent me bugs.
- Keep up the good work.
-
- Bug fixes to WinJammer version 2.00 ------------------------------------------
-
- 1. WinJammer had problems reading files where the timebase was more than 768.
- Loading such a file would cause WinJammer to generate a UAE.
-
- 2. Some operations such as Cut and Paste wouldn't cause the Piano Roll or
- Track List windows to be updated properly. This could actually cause old
- tracks to be left behind, pasted tracks to be ignored and undo to fail.
-
- 3. Pressing Enter in some of the dialogs rather than pressing Ok caused the
- entered values to be ignored.
-
- 4. A newly recorded track would sometimes be lost if the Track List or Piano
- Roll windows were open when recording was performed.
-
- 5. The up/down keys would no longer change the selected track on the main
- window once one of the play buttons was pressed.
-
- 6. The initial setting of the THRU switch wasn't correct until it was changed
- or playback occured. The initial setting is changed as soon as the
- program is entered.
-
- 7. The Mute command didn't always cause the track to mute correctly if done
- while playing. Notes that were on were left on.
-
- 8. It was rather difficult to enter flats and sharps when typing in a note
- name because I never told anyone to use a minus sign. You can now use
- either a minus sign '-' or a 'b' for a flat, and either a plus sign '+' or
- number sign '#' for a sharp.
-
- 9. The Sound Note switch caused lots of stuck notes in the Piano Roll and
- Track List windows. A note off should now be sent.
-
- 10. The presence of a system exclusive event in a track could cause a UAE or
- the track to be terminated prematurely. Imbedded system exclusive events
- are now properly ignored. Full support is coming (I promise!).
-
- 11. Fixed a bug which would sometimes cause incorrect track lengths to be shown
- on the main window.
-
- Enhancements in Version 2.10 -------------------------------------------------
-
- 1. Type 0: If there is only one track in the song, it will be saved as a
- type zero file instead of a type 1.
-
- 2. File Exit: WinJammer will now allow Windows to be exited or the program
- to be closed, even if it is playing or recording. Of course a prompt will
- still occur if you have changes that you haven't saved.
-
- 3. New MIDI Configuration: There are two new switches on the MIDI menu which
- control the sending of MIDI Clocks and MIDI Start/Stop/Continue messages.
-
- 4. MIDI Metronome: For those of you who like metronomes, there is now a MIDI
- metronome. The MIDI Metronome command allows you to select the notes that
- are used to sound the metronome. The metronome can now also be limited to
- only sound during recording.
-
- 5. Rewind/Fast Forward: The position you were in the last time you started
- playback or record is remembered, and the Rewind/Fast Forward buttons now
- will go there when pressed once. This is handy when working on a section of a
- song.
-
- Bug Fixes to WinJammer Player 2.00 -------------------------------------------
-
- 1. Loading a song with a track larger than 64K would cause a UAE.
-
- Enhancements to WinJammer Player 2.00 ----------------------------------------
-
- 1. Options Delay: added a customizable delay between songs. This can be used
- to put a few seconds of silence between songs during playback.
