1. 03/31/00 - (v1.3) LivePaper no longer displays its background splash screen during image cycling and timed updates. The image loading picture will only display during an initial image load and when 'Force Update' is selected from the tray icon menu.
2. 03/31/00 - (v1.3) Fixed a bug in the image resource list that can sometimes cause LivePaper to stop loading updated images.
3. 03/31/00 - (v1.3) Added several internal features that enhance program stability and image reload reliability.
4. 03/31/00 - (v1.3) I decided to remove the $5.00 shareware registration fee.
5. 04/25/00 - (v1.3) Clicking 'Force Reload' could, on occasion, cause a fatal error and cash LivePaper.
6. 04/25/00 - (v1.4) In order for LivePaper to remain free, the software is now add-enabled and will make periodic use of your internet connection to display a small banner add at the top of the configuration screen.
7. 04/25/00 - (v1.4) Added a new menu feature that will allow users to advance to the next image when in cyclic mode.
8. 07/24/00 - (v1.5) Changed the resource drop down menu to a listbox due to problems with control appearance when a screen refresh took place. The dropdown box would disappear from the form when the Win UI was refreshed.
9. 07/24/00 - (v1.5) Modified the edit window to be a seperate 'child' window for more reasonable viewing at lower resolution settings.
10. 07/24/00 - (v1.5) Removed All AdWare components from the app. LivePaper is now truly
FreeWare.
11. 07/24/00 - (v1.5) Created code framework for image scaling. This feature will not be activated in this release.
12. 07/24/00 - (v1.5) Included link to LivePaper's WebHelp page from the 'Help' menu.
PLANNED FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS
---------------------------------
1. Add 'Channels' to LivePaper to allow for specific groupings of URLs for areas of interest (i.e., Weather, WebCams, Religion, Stocks, News, etc.)
2. Add image scaling support to reduce/enlarge images.
DESCRIPTION:
---------------------------------
LivePaper is a Windows Wallpaper changer for dynamic Web images. With Right-Click support added to Microsoft Internet Explorer, adding ever changing content to your Windows background is easy. Once only there for looks, your wallpaper can now be a used as a dynamic tool for any frequently changing Web-Based image. At a user specified interval, LivePaper queries the image server and determines whether the image is newer than the local copy. If the server image has changed, LivePaper updates your Windows Wallpaper with the latest image. Get up to the minute local, national or international radar, stock charts, or monitor your favorite webcams. You can also easily set up LivePaper to cycle through your favorite web-based images, local images, or a combination of both.
KNOWN ISSUES:
-----------------------------------
1. LivePaper will not work if you have the 'View As WebPage' option enabled on your Windows Desktop. To disable this feature, right-click on your desktop and select 'Active Desktop' and then deselect 'View As WebPage'.
2. The default update interval for web image loading is 1 minute which may be too fast for larger images while using a modem. Increase the time from 1 minute update intervals to 5 minute update intervals to allow your modem time to download the image BEFORE the next update is called. You may need to experiment with this value. To change the update interval for an image resource, load the configuration page, select the image from the drop-down list, click the 'Edit' button, change the update frequency and then click 'Update'.
3. When LivePaper updates the Windows Wallpaper, your active windows and your desktop may flicker for a brief instant. This is normal and is caused by a desktop refresh that takes place on image swapping.
