  1. HyperSnap-DX is Windows 95, 98 and NT screen capture tool.  
  2. Unlike any other of such tools, it can capture not only 
  3. standard desktop programs, but also multimedia and games 
  4. running in DirectX/ Direct3D or 3Dfx Glide modes, and most 
  5. video/dvd players.  It can save and read pictures in over 20 
  6. graphics formats, including GIF (transparent and 
  7. interlaced), JPEG (progressive) and much more.  Use hotkeys 
  8. or an autotimer to grab a desktop, hilited window or any 
  9. area.  Include cursor in images, crop, change colors and 
  10. resolution, acquire from TWAIN devices.  Auto scroll web 
  11. pages and other long documents to capture more than you can 
  12. see on the screen.  Contains tons of other useful features.  
  13.  
  14. INSTALLATION
  15. ------------
  16.  
  17. Install this program by running the self-extracting archive, 
  18. HySnap.exe or SETUP.EXE (e.g.  double click on its icon).  You 
  19. will be prompted for the target folder, where HyperSnap-DX files 
  20. will be installed.  A HyperSnap-DX group (menu) will be created 
  21. in your Windows 95 or NT Start menu, together with an 
  22. "Uninstall" icon that will completely remove HyperSnap-DX if 
  23. necessary.

  25. If the uninstall script file (UnHSDX.bat in your Windows 
  26. directory) was accidently deleted, you may still completely 
  27. uninstall HyperSnap-DX by running: 
  28.  
  29.   hsdx -uninstall
  30.  
  31. and then deleting its files and directory manually. To recreate
  32. HyperSnap-DX menu under Windows 95 "Start" button you may run
  33. again HySnap.exe, if you saved it, or just run:
  34.  
  35.   hsdx -install
  36.  
  37. and enter the same directory where HyperSnap-DX is already 
  38. installed.
  39.  
  40. Register your copy of HyperSnap-DX by selecting "Register" under 
  41. the program's Help menu, or from within the help menu.  This 
  42. program is a 'try before you buy' shareware program that relies 
  43. on your support for continued development, and single user 
  44. registration is only $25.00.  When you register HyperSnap-DX you 
  45. will receive a code that fully enables the software and become 
  46. eligible for priority support.  You will also be able to obtain 
  47. free updates of the program through our Web page (address below) 
  48. with which you can use your registration code, until the next 
  49. major release.

  51. You may also purchase HyperSnap-DX licenses in our WEB Store
  52. on the Internet. It uses secure connection to insure privacy.

  157. Added the ability to capture images from hardware overlays,
  158. which are largely used in video software (e.g. DVD players).
  159. The limitation is again, that the overlay must have been
  160. created and managed with DirectX in the target program, 
  161. otherwise we'll still capture only the color rectangle
  162. (the overlay key color).

  164. Good news is a new way to snap DirectX screens, including
  165. games, videos, DVD etc. It is no longer necessary to start
  166. HyperSnap-DX and enable DirectX capture first, before the
  167. target program. HyperSnap-DX can be started or stopped at
  168. any time, and it will capture these screens correctly.
  169. DirectX and Glide capture is now a lot more stable, should
  170. not cause game/computer crashes or lock-ups.

  174. Added new "Quick Crop and Scale" function to Capture menu. 
  175. Added "Toggle Cursor Capture" button to the toolbar.

  177. Added a setting to change picture resolution, in dots per

  214. small fixes.
