  11. I. Description

  13. Boot Sentry 4.0a is a security program that makes it so that only you can use your computer.
  14. It does this by password protecting windows at startup - the system is totally
  15. locked without your password. 
  16.  
  17. Your system can also be locked with a singe click from the system tray, locked
  18. after so many minutes idle (like a screensaver) or locked after a time period you specify.

  20. Boot Sentry contains extensive logging features that allow you to keep close
  21. tabs on your system.

  50. IV. Installing
  51. You will need to uninstall any previous versions of Boot Sentry before installing
  52. Version 4.0a. To uninstall, do the following:
  53.  
  54. 1. Right Click on the Boot Sentry systray icon (light bulb) and
  55. press Alt-F4 when the menu comes up.
  56. 2. Delete the folder C:\Boot Sentry\ and all it's contents
  57. 3. Goto C:\Windows\Start Menu\Startup\ and delete the shortcuts
  58.    Lock Windows and Boot Sentry Systray
  59. 4. Delete the Boot Sentry Program Group on your Start Menu

  61. After downloading the zip file, unzip all files into a temp directory and then run
  62. setup.exe.
  63.  
  64. After setup completes, you will need to run Command Center and then reboot your computer.

  66. V. Default Password
  67. The default password is: science
  68. You will want to change this as soon as possible. To do this, run Command Center from
  69. the 'Boot Sentry 4.0' group in your start menu.

  71. You will need to change both your Admin password and your WinLock password.

  73. see the appropriate help entries.

  77. You can check for updates at any time by clicking on the 'check for updates' button
  78. in Command Center. It is a good idea to check for updates at least once every mobth
  79.  
  80. Bugfixes will be posted there when bugs are found that require a patch to fix. If you
  81. experience a problem with Boot Sentry, please check the help files, webpage and read the 
  82. FAQ before emailing.
