- Change History:
-
- 1.52 - 06/07/1999
- =================
- * Rotate the screen! Either Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise.
- * The number of Bookmarks has increased to 200.
- * The HTML2Doc converter now properly handles non-ASCII characters entities
- and many more HTML 3 tags.
- * Footnotes are set off from the text by horizontal lines.
- * The Unregistered version allows displaying of the first 8-9 screens of a
- document (double the previous value).
-
- 1.50 - 05/10/1999
- =================
- * Now you can convert HTML files to RichReader format with HTML2Doc! This
- command line program behaves similarly to RTF2Doc.
- * Minor GUI changes to WRTF2Doc.
-
- 1.47 - 04/26/1999
- =================
- * WRTF2Doc and RTF2Doc will now automatically install the converted files
- in the HotSync install directory and set the HotSync install flag in
- the registry. This means it is no longer necessary to use the Palm Install
- Tool. Moving documents from a Word Processor to the Palm is now only 3 steps:
- 1. In the Word Processor: save the document as an RTF file.
- 2. Run WRTF2Doc and set the Install flag when converting.
- 3. Press the HotSync button on the cradle!
-
- 1.45 - 04/19/1999
- =================
- * Added a Preferences screen to the Options menu.
- * Added an option to the Preferences screen to control the behavior of tapping
- the screen in View mode. If option is set, then tapping the screen will
- scroll up/down one page. If not set, then scroll up/down one line. (Many
- users have requested this: Bradley DeGouttes, Brent McPherson, Mark Hasseman,
- Gerold Krommer, etc.)
- * The Main window will now remember the last document viewed and will
- automatically highlight that document in the list (suggested by Jacques
- TurbΘ)
- * When using Find or Find Again, a small window containing the message
- "Finding..." will pop up while searching so that you know the program is
- doing something (suggested by Mark Hasseman)
- * Changed the Find and Add Bookmark dialogs to automatically select the current
- text when the dialog opens so that typing will replace all text (suggested by
- Mark Hasseman)
-
- 1.42 - 04/14/1999
- =================
- * Added WRTF2Doc, a windows based conversion utility for converting RTF to
- compressed AportisDocÖ format .pdb files. It is my first MFC application
- so it may not be pretty but it works. NOTE: You may need some extra
- Microsoft DLLs to run this MFC program (see the web site). The command
- line program RTF2Doc is still supplied.
- * View a document in a single font size/style. Normally, "plain" documents
- (not created from RTF files) are displayed in the Normal Medium size font.
- This new feature allows you to select the font size and any combination of
- styles to use as the display font for these documents.
-
- 1.4 - 03/28/1999
- =================
- * RTF2Doc is now a one step conversion process! A third party text conversion
- program is no longer needed! RTF2Doc will convert directly from a Rich Text
- Format file (.rtf extension) to a compressed AportisDocÖ format file
- (.pdb extension). You will still need to run 3Com's Instapp.exe to prepare
- the .pdb file for a HotSync. See the Install.txt file.
- * The unregistered version will now allow you to view the entire RichReader
- Documentation file. This should greatly help anyone evaluating the program
- before deciding to purchase. This file is supplied in the ZIP file as
- RichReader.pdb (with the name "RichReader Doc" on the Palm). All other
- documents will remain limited to the first few screens in the unregistered
- version. (Thanks to Brent McPherson for the suggestion)
- * Remember, always visit the web site for the most recent information.
-
- 1.34 - 03/25/1999
- =================
- * Fixed problem with files modified by SmartDoc. It sets the "version" in the
- file header to an undocumented value which caused the text to appear
- uncompressed to RichReader. (Thanks to Bill May for all of his help)
- IF YOU USE SmartDoc WITH RichReader, PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION.
-
- 1.33 - 03/20/1999
- =================
- * Main window will now display an unlimited number of documents (previously
- there was a limit of 32)
- * Fixed problem with paragraph bullets/numbering in RTF2Doc.exe. There is
- still an issue with Word 97 style of numbering when saved to RTF. (Thanks to
- Roland Soltysiak for helping me find the bug)
- * Added more space around the tiny controls in the status/control bar on the
- View screen which should help prevent accidentally tapping the wrong control.
- (Thanks to Jacques TurbΘ for the suggestions)
-
- 1.3 - 03/15/1999
- =================
- * Manually Add and Delete Bookmarks!
- * Read saved bookmarks created by "other" Doc reader applications!
- * Find and Find Again!
- - Search from the Top of the document or from the Current Position
- - Case of letters is ignored (i.e. a = A)
- - Whitespace characters are all equivalent (Space = Tab = Newline = Carriage
- Return)
- - Wildcards! A question mark (?) or period (.) matches any character.
- * NOTE: It is recommended that you Delete older versions of RichReader on your
- Palm computer before installing this version. Your will have to re-enter
- your Registration Key (which remains the same as for previous versions).
-
- 1.2 - 03/09/1999
- =================
- * Added Bookmarks feature.
- Bookmarks from the source RTF file will be converted to tags in the
- converted Palm document.
- Up to 100 bookmarks can be displayed.
- * Now allows up to 32 documents to be displayed in the Main list.
- * Modified some of the icons on the View control bar.
-
- 1.1 - 03/06/1999
- =================
- * Fixed calculation of record size while reading document which caused a crash.
- (Records which had been changed on Palm the device by a Doc editor like QED
- would modify the record sizes of a document).
-
- 1.0 - 03/01/1999
- =================
- * Released
