  27.     MediaThumb is a media browser and a graphics viewer, file manager for images,
  28.     sounds, video.
  29.     It make thumbnails of your image files and has many features
  30.     to make easy your life:
  31.     image file search, file conversion, image manipulation,
  32.     Batch converter, renamer, keywords, categories, printing utility, drag & drop     between     applications, catalog of your cdrom images etc.
  33.     MediaThumb supports many image formats available on Windows.
  34.     Mediathumb is multilingual English, French, Italian, Spanish.

  40.     2. System Requirements

  43.     To run MediaThumb, you need Windows 95/98 or Windows NT. A minimium 
  44.     100MHz Pentium CPU is recommended.

  47.     3. Installation
  48.     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  50.     Simply Run the install program and run MediaThumb.exe.
  51.  
  52.     If you are updating a previous version of MediaThumb,
  53.     Simply, Run the install program and choose the same directory where 
  54.     the previous version was installed.
  55.     The older version will be overwrited by the new version.

  57.     Note: If you received MediaThumb on a magazine CD or from some 
  58.     software library, please visit the MediaThumb home page at 
  59.     http://members.aol.com/bdeveza/, 
  60.     to ensure you have the newest version.

  63.     4. Localization

  66.     This program is "international" and currently supports 4 
  67.     languages (could be selected in the Options menu). 
  68.     Now available: English, French, Italian, Spanish.

  70.     please drop us a line - you'll get a free Personal registration!

  76.     MediaThumb is shareware. This means:

  78.     - All copyrights to MediaThumb are exclusively owned by the author - 
  79.       Bernard Deveza.
  80.     - Anyone may use this software during a test period of 30 days. 
  81.       Following this test period of 30 days, if you wish to continue 
  82.       to use MediaThumb, you MUST register.
  83.     - Once registered, the user is granted a non-exclusive license to 
  84.       use MediaThumb on one computer
  85.         (i.e. a single CPU) at a time, for any legal purpose. The 
  86.           registered MediaThumb software may not be rented or leased, but may 
  87.       be permanently transferred, if the person receiving it agrees to 
  88.       the terms of this license. If the software is an update, the 
  89.             transfer must include the update and all previous versions. 
  90.     - The MediaThumb unregistered shareware version may be freely distributed, 
  91.       provided the distribution package is not modified. No person or 
  92.           company may charge a fee for the distribution of MediaThumb without

  124.     - where did you get MediaThumb from (http or ftp site).

  126.     - full description of your problem - provide as much information 
  127.       as possible to allow duplication of the problem: place of error, 
  128.       sequence of your actions, etc.
  129.     - files causing problems may be submitted in one of two ways:
  130.       * by e-mail attachment, but only if less than 1MB in size
  131.       * by URL
  132.         all files must be compressed in .zip format.

  146. The main interface is divided into 5 resizeable panels.

  148. -1    Thumbnails panel

  154. All operations can be made with the mouse.

  157. - The thumbnails can be resized dynamically with a slider.

  159. - You can move, copy, delete, rename images.

  161. - Drag & drop between applications : You can work with your preferred image editor by double clicking the 
  162.   thumbnail(s) or by dragging the thumbnail(s) directly into your editor.

  164. - Each image can have up to four categories, up to ten keywords and a description.
  165.   With that you can easily organize your images.

  167. - Powerful search : You can search images with the following criteria :
  168.   Name, file types, categories, keywords, file size, file date, file time, image height, image width, color depth.

  170. - Renaming image(s) : You can rename one or many images at once, very useful when you have a digital camera 
  171.   or a scanner and names like "kif000032.jpg, kif000033.jpg, kif000034.jpg".

  173. - Quick' retouch : This powerful tool allows complex image manipulations thru simple clicks.
  174.   For each filter combination the function calculate eight images differently modified. You just have to choose 
  175.   your preferred image.

  177. - Batch function :
  178.   In only one operation, you can :

  180.     - Convert the file type.
  181.     - Change the color depth.
  182.     - Resize  by resampling. 
  183.     - Apply filters : Luminosity, RGB, Sharpen etc.

  187. - Scan : You can scan a directory, a group of directories, hard drives, cdroms...

  189. - Cataloging Cdroms disks and removable disks.
  190.   This is very useful when you work with Cd-roms because you can always see the thumbnails
  191.   even if the cdrom is not in the unit. With the cdrom's name, you'll see where
  192.   images are stored. Of course, you can assign categories, keywords etc. and make
  193.   searches on these images.

  202.     You can change your configuration as you want.

  204. The program can manage different letters for the same disk.
