- 2.1 Uninstalling the Windows NT drivers
-
- How to uninstall the mach64 Windows Device Driver. There are TWO ways to
- do this without re-installing Windows NT.
-
- ONE method is:
- CD \winnt\system32\drivers
- ren ATI.sys ATI.ati
- Windows NT looks for ATI.SYS drivers at boot time, if it cannot find
- it, it cannot use it.
-
- SECOND method is:
- While running Windows NT, execute the Win NT Setup program.
- Select a NON mach64 driver (try VGA compatible)

- 3.0 DPMS Support
-
- VESA DPMS-compliant monitors conserve electrical energy by powering down
- during periods of inactivity when the DPMS feature is enabled.
-
- Auto-shutdown occurs after a defined period of keyboard and mouse inactivity.
- There are three stages for reduced power consumption: Standby, Suspend and
- Off. The amount of power that is saved at each stage is determined by the
- manufacturer of the monitor.
-
- WARNING
-
- Monitors that do not support VESA DPMS can be damaged by activation of the
- DPMS feature.
-
- To enable DPMS support for NT 3.1:
-
- 1) Double click on the NT Desktop icon
- 2) Select the SCREEN SAVERS option
- 3) Select DPMS from the list of available SCREEN SAVERS
- 4) Click on the SETUP button, to configure DPMS stand by mode.
- 5) When DPMS stand by is enabled, you can then configure SUSPEND and OFF
- time in minutes
-
- Note: The STANDBY time intervolt is determined by the DELAY time set for
- the SCREEN SAVER function.

- 4.0 Known Problems
-
- This driver does not currently support 1280x1024 on ISA mach64 product.
-
- This driver does not currently support 24 bpp at resolutions greater than
- 640x480 on ISA mach64 product.
-
- Some applications do not handle 24bpp and 32bpp properly resulting in the
- colors not looking right.
-
- What to do if ACCELERATOR not found message appears:
-
- Is there another adapter card in the system that CONFLICTS with I/O
- locations in the 350-35F hex range? Relocate the I/O to 300 to 31F range.
-
- Attempting to run the mach64 Install program under NT will report
- "Mach64 Adapter not detected.". The install program must be run from DOS.
-
- 1280x1024 is not currently supported on non-linear aperture configurations
-
- 24 BPP is not currently supported on non-linear aperture configurations at
- resolutions greater than 640x480.
