- Yes, the holidays are upon us again, times when
- we'll be giving gifts, sending greetings, and
- getting together with family and friends. In
- addition to these activities, we should be counting
- and giving thanks for all of our blessings during
- the past year.

- One of the greatest blessings the ST RoundTable has
- enjoyed are the people who have graced us with their
- presence. One of these people is Michael "Papa"
- Herbert, our resident expert on AtariWorks and
- related subjects. Papa's special gifts over the past
- year are his wonderful "how to" files describing how
- to do all kinds of things with AtariWorks, creative
- things that Atari Corporation never even imagined.
-
- One of Papa's most recent presents is in 30497
- AW_POPUP.LZH, a small file describing how to make
- holiday "popup" decorations for the dinner table.
- Whether you are planning an office Christmas party
- or a family gathering for Hanukkah, these table
- decorations are just the thing to make your festive
- occasion memorable. What's amazing is that, as good
- as these decorations are, they can easily be created
- with a plain vanilla copy of AtariWorks.
-
- File 31029 AW_GCARD.LZH is another special gift from
- Papa. This file contains templates and instructions
- for producing your own greeting cards. Many old time
- Atari owners will remember a program called
- Printmaster Plus which produced greeting cards on a
- dot matrix printer. It was okay in its day, but it
- was never developed to a point where you could
- produce high quality output.
-
- With a copy of AtariWorks and Papa's AW_GCARD,
- however, you can make cards that are as good (or
- better) than anything you get from those "do it
- yourself" computerized card machines you see in the
- stores. Whether you want to invite a bunch of
- friends to Thanksgiving dinner or create
- one-of-a-kind birthday cards, you owe it to yourself
- to check this one out. You don't even need to be
- much of an artist, since a quick search of the
- Library using the keyword HOLIDAY will turn up many
- files of holiday clip art just waiting for you to
- download and print.

- There are many others like Papa Herbert who make the
- ST RoundTable a special place. In addition to the
- staff, folk like Al Fasoldt, Tomas Ensley, and John
- Trautschol seem to always be around to lend a hand.
-
- Actually, it is impossible to compile a complete
- list of special people, since almost everyone who
- visits the Bulletin Board is willing to help if they
- have the answer to somebody's problem. And while
- people like Bob Brodie and John Townsend have had to
- depart for greener pastures, the BBS has been
- enriched by their contributions.
-
- The ST RoundTable staff would like to give a great
- big holiday "Thank You" to all the individuals who,
- by their presence and participation, have helped
- make the ST RoundTable a wonderful place to visit.
- We very much appreciate your assistance over the
- past year and hope that you will continue to visit
- us on a regular basis.
-
- And to all our friends on GEnie, wherever you are,
- we wish to take this opportunity to wish you the
- very best for the holiday season.
