  1. Yes, the holidays are upon us again, times when
  2. we'll be giving gifts, sending greetings, and
  3. getting together with family and friends. In
  4. addition to these activities, we should be counting
  5. and giving thanks for all of our blessings during
  6. the past year.

  10. One of the greatest blessings the ST RoundTable has
  11. enjoyed are the people who have graced us with their
  12. presence. One of these people is Michael "Papa"
  13. Herbert, our resident expert on AtariWorks and
  14. related subjects. Papa's special gifts over the past
  15. year are his wonderful "how to" files describing how
  16. to do all kinds of things with AtariWorks, creative
  17. things that Atari Corporation never even imagined.

  19. One of Papa's most recent presents is in 30497
  20. AW_POPUP.LZH, a small file describing how to make
  21. holiday "popup" decorations for the dinner table.
  22. Whether you are planning an office Christmas party
  23. or a family gathering for Hanukkah, these table
  24. decorations are just the thing to make your festive
  25. occasion memorable. What's amazing is that, as good
  26. as these decorations are, they can easily be created
  27. with a plain vanilla copy of AtariWorks.
  28.   
  29. File 31029 AW_GCARD.LZH is another special gift from
  30. Papa. This file contains templates and instructions
  31. for producing your own greeting cards. Many old time
  32. Atari owners will remember a program called
  33. Printmaster Plus which produced greeting cards on a
  34. dot matrix printer. It was okay in its day, but it
  35. was never developed to a point where you could
  36. produce high quality output.

  38. With a copy of AtariWorks and Papa's AW_GCARD,
  39. however, you can make cards that are as good (or
  40. better) than anything you get from those "do it
  41. yourself" computerized card machines you see in the
  42. stores. Whether you want to invite a bunch of
  43. friends to Thanksgiving dinner or create
  44. one-of-a-kind birthday cards, you owe it to yourself
  45. to check this one out. You don't even need to be
  46. much of an artist, since a quick search of the
  47. Library using the keyword HOLIDAY will turn up many
  48. files of holiday clip art just waiting for you to
  49. download and print.

  53. There are many others like Papa Herbert who make the
  54. ST RoundTable a special place. In addition to the
  55. staff, folk like Al Fasoldt, Tomas Ensley, and John
  56. Trautschol seem to always be around to lend a hand.

  58. Actually, it is impossible to compile a complete
  59. list of special people, since almost everyone who
  60. visits the Bulletin Board is willing to help if they
  61. have the answer to somebody's problem. And while
  62. people like Bob Brodie and John Townsend have had to
  63. depart for greener pastures, the BBS has been
  64. enriched by their contributions.

  66. The ST RoundTable staff would like to give a great
  67. big holiday "Thank You" to all the individuals who,
  68. by their presence and participation, have helped
  69. make the ST RoundTable a wonderful place to visit.
