- If you're interested in New Age thinking or
- lifestyles, there's a special place for you now on
- GEnie: The New Age RoundTable, which opened its
- doors in late May. You can find it by typing NEWAGE
- or M1122 (a powerful page number selected by our
- numerologists) at any GEnie prompt.
-
- Although New Age philosophy is based fundamentally
- on a spiritual approach to living, you'll find a
- great deal of practical, down-to-earth advice in
- the New Age RoundTable. Bulletin Board Category 2,
- for example, is all about "New Age Living in an Old
- Age World." That's where members share their
- experiences about the ups and downs of putting New
- Age values into practice in daily life.
-
- Topics in this Category include discussions on
- raising children with New Age values, right
- livelihood, discrimination against those who
- practice New Age philosophies, and whether the
- concept of "New Age" itself has simply become a
- marketing ploy. You'll find loads of practical
- advice and recommendations here.
-
- Moving Through the Board
-
- If you're interested in discussions of a more
- philosophical or speculative bent, check out the
- Bulletin Board Categories devoted to meditation,
- altered states of consciousness, psychic gifts and
- experiences, reincarnation, or spirit guides. You
- can share your own experiences here in an
- atmosphere of understanding and support, while you
- learn and talk about the experiences of others.
-
- Read any good New Age books lately? Bulletin Board
- Category 21 is set aside to discuss the works and
- philosophies of various New Age teachers, including
- Alice A. Bailey, Jane Roberts, Edgar Cayce,
- Yogananda, and many others.
-
- Tarot readers have their own Category in the New
- Age Bulletin Board -- Category 10 -- where lively
- discussions cover all facets of working with Tarot
- cards, from purchasing decks, to selecting spreads,
- and interpreting the cards themselves. Other
- reading and divination systems (numerology, I
- Ching, runes, and so forth) can be found in
- Category 9.
-
- Aromatherapy to Zen
-
- The New Age Software Libraries contain an
- ever-growing collection of articles, essays,
- bibliographies, and reference materials on a
- variety of New Age topics from Aromatherapy to Zen.
- We also have a number of GIFs (graphic files) in
- the Library, including beautiful depictions of a
- number of Tarot cards. If you use an
- IBM-compatible, you can find shareware files to
- download that will help you with Tarot, numerology,
- biorhythm, and I Ching readings on your home
- computer, as well as a computerized Ouija board in
- File 40 DASI.ZIP.
-
- All members are encouraged to use our Library to
- share their writings, essays, poetry, programs, and
- other files related to New Age themes. Remember,
- uploading a file to the New Age Library is free of
- standard GEnie connect-time charges on evenings,
- weekends, and holidays.
-
- Real-Time Meetings
-
- If you like live interaction, an ambitious schedule
- of Real-Time Conferences is currently being
- organized. The 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
- features a discussion of Tarot led by Nina Lee
- Braden (NEWAGE.TAROT), a professional Tarot reader
- and teacher who is well-known around GEnie for her
- expertise. Additional conferences and special
- events will address topics such as Aromatherapy,
- Yoga, and Meditation.
-
- And palmist John Riggs is scheduled to speak on
- palmistry at a special August Conference. Watch the
- New Age RoundTable announcements for details.
-
- In the meantime, don't stop there. Come into the
- New Age RoundTable and share the fascinating
- conversations, learning experiences, and exciting
- new philosophies. It could change your life!
