  1. One half score and seven years ago, our forefathers
  2. (Wozniak and Jobs) brought forth from a garage a
  3. great new computer, conceived in liberty and
  4. dedicated to the principles of computing ease.

  6. That's right, the Apple II turns 17 this year, which
  7. means it's nearly old enough to graduate from high
  8. school. Come on by the Apple RoundTables and help us
  9. celebrate the continuing development of this fine
  10. machine.

  12. ICONference Coming
  13.   
  14. We want to take this opportunity to invite you to
  15. attend ICONference, formerly the A2-Central Summer
  16. Conference (AKA KansasFest), hosted by Tom Weishaar's
  17. Resource Central. While ICONference is for all
  18. computer platforms, it is a REALLY big event for the
  19. Apple II. The A2 and A2Pro RoundTables will be
  20. represented there and both will have continuous
  21. coverage of all pertinent activities.

  23. Join A2Pro's Sloanie for a Real-Time Conference (RTC)
  24. from the elevator -- time and date will be announced
  25. soon. ICONference's keynote speaker will be Randy
  26. Brandt, chief programmer for the recent Appleworks
  27. upgrade. Western Design Center (the folks responsible
  28. for the 65816 heart of the Apple IIgs) will show
  29. their new Mensch Computer. Many other Apple II
  30. luminaries will make presentations including
  31. Shareware Solutions author Joe Kohn, GS+ Magazine's
  32. Steve Disbrow, programmer Bill Heineman, and
  33. developer Roger Wagner. If you've always wanted to
  34. meet your A2 and A2Pro Sysops in person and match
  35. faces with names, this is your chance -- many of us
  36. will be there, too!

  50. patriotic, A2 will be featuring downlads consistent
  51. with that theme. Clip art is well represented, and
  52. patriotic sounds and even fonts are available too.
