- One half score and seven years ago, our forefathers
- (Wozniak and Jobs) brought forth from a garage a
- great new computer, conceived in liberty and
- dedicated to the principles of computing ease.
-
- That's right, the Apple II turns 17 this year, which
- means it's nearly old enough to graduate from high
- school. Come on by the Apple RoundTables and help us
- celebrate the continuing development of this fine
- machine.
-
- ICONference Coming
-
- We want to take this opportunity to invite you to
- attend ICONference, formerly the A2-Central Summer
- Conference (AKA KansasFest), hosted by Tom Weishaar's
- Resource Central. While ICONference is for all
- computer platforms, it is a REALLY big event for the
- Apple II. The A2 and A2Pro RoundTables will be
- represented there and both will have continuous
- coverage of all pertinent activities.
-
- Join A2Pro's Sloanie for a Real-Time Conference (RTC)
- from the elevator -- time and date will be announced
- soon. ICONference's keynote speaker will be Randy
- Brandt, chief programmer for the recent Appleworks
- upgrade. Western Design Center (the folks responsible
- for the 65816 heart of the Apple IIgs) will show
- their new Mensch Computer. Many other Apple II
- luminaries will make presentations including
- Shareware Solutions author Joe Kohn, GS+ Magazine's
- Steve Disbrow, programmer Bill Heineman, and
- developer Roger Wagner. If you've always wanted to
- meet your A2 and A2Pro Sysops in person and match
- faces with names, this is your chance -- many of us
- will be there, too!
-
- Join us Thursday to Saturday, July 21-23, at Avila
- College in Kansas City, Missouri for LOADS of fun.
- The address for ICONference registration is:
-
- ICONference
- P. O. Box 11250
- Overland Park, KS 66207
- Telephone 913/469-6502.
