- It seems that every day more business people come
- to appreciate the benefits of online
- communications. Just think: No more phone-tag games
- or voice mail recordings to sit through; no more
- expensive overnight delivery to get a piece of
- paper across a continent -- or even an ocean, for
- that matter. If you're one of the savvy Information
- Age folks, and if you include your GE Mail or GEnie
- Internet address on your paperwork or promotional
- items, GEnie would like to thank you in a
- business-like way. After all, as someone I once
- worked for was fond of saying, "Money isn't the
- name of the game, it's just the way we keep score."
-
- You can increase your score by sending a sample of
- your printed business card, letterhead stationery,
- fax cover sheet, Yellow Pages listing, newspaper
- advertisement, or promotional item such as a ball
- point pen or key chain -- pretty much any business
- item that shows your GE Mail or GEnie Internet
- address -- to GEnie. You'll be rewarded with a
- GEnie online usage credit of $6 ($8 if you hail
- from Canada) for each of up to two such samples.
-
- Details are available online by typing BOOSTER or
- M1112 at any GEnie prompt. Don't delay; GEnie's
- Business Booster Promotion ends August 30, 1994.
-
- Moving Right Along
-
- Speaking of fast-paced information, Motorcycle
- Consumer News Magazine (MCN) and SPECTRO Oils of
- America have both chosen GEnie's Motorcycling
- RoundTable as their official online computer
- service.
-
- This means that motorcycling buffs can now
- communicate directly with MCN's editors and stay
- abreast of the lastest technological developments
- from SPECTRO Oils. MCN editors and SPECTRO Oil reps
- are already answering questions on the Motorcycling
- Bulletin Board, uploading valuable files to the
- Library, and holding forth in monthly Real-Time
- Conferences. Get particulars by typing MOTO at any
- GEnie prompt.

- New, New, New!
-
- There's always something new on GEnie, and future
- issues of LiveWire will feature news of several
- debuting services, all of which are either open now
- and will be real soon now. These include our
- brand-spanking new NewAge, British Isles, and
- Archive Graphics RoundTables. But don't wait for
- the magazine; go exploring online in the meantime.
- You may find a world of timely information and
- discover friends you never knew you had.
-
- In the near future, LiveWire will also introduce
- new Multimedia Magazine versions for GEnie members
- who use platforms other than IBM-compatible, color
- Macintosh, and Amiga. Watch the GEnie Announcements
- when you sign on or the banner on your favorite
- computing RoundTable for details.
-
- June File Finder
-
- If you're reading a Multimedia edition now,
- remember to look for the June File Finder, a text
- file located in the directory on your system where
- you stored this issue. The File Finder is built
- into the text edition; check the contents page to
- locate it.
-
- Use the File Finder as a memory jogger to help
- recall files mentioned in this issue that you want
- to add to your personal collection. You can even
- put the File Finder on paper if you have a printer,
- and make notes on it as you go through LiveWire. As
- its name indicates, you'll find all the information
- you need to find a file online in the File Finder:
- the name of the LiveWire article in which it was
- mentioned, the keyword for the RoundTable Library
- it's stored in (for direct online navigation), the
- number and name of every file mentioned in this
- issue, and occasional remarks about pertinent
- details. Just be sure you read the file's long
- description online to be certain your system has
- the required elements to run everything you
- download.
-
- Seeya online!
