  1. Pull up a seat, grab the marshmallows, and join the
  2. Science Fiction and Fantasy RoundTable's FIRST
  3. Real-Time Conference (RTC) story-telling night!
  4.   
  5. The one and only Uncle Yog will be telling stories
  6. on Sunday, May 22, from 10:00 PM to Midnight
  7. Eastern time (7:00 to 9:00 PM Pacific) in Room 40
  8. of the SFRT1 Conference area.
  9.   
  10. Uncle Yog will tell a number of his favorite
  11. science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories, both
  12. classic and contemporary, one screen at a time.
  13. Turn on your capture buffer, read 'em, and talk
  14. about 'em with your friends there in the Conference
  15. area. Tales by H. G. Wells and Mary Wollstonecraft
  16. Shelley will be intermingled with stories by Nebula
  17. and Hugo nominee Martha Soukup, and an original,
  18. never-before-published story by best-sellers Debra
  19. Doyle and James D. Macdonald, along with many
  20. others both new and old.

  22. Story Hour
  23.   
  24. Uncle Yog's Story Hour will work like this: Go to
  25. the SFRT1 Real-Time Conference area (menu option 2
  26. on GEnie Page 470), pick a room and settle in.
  27. Introduce yourself to the people you find there.
  28. Get to know each other. Forty rooms will be open --
  29. lots of groups to choose from. Then listen to
  30. stories from the humorous science fiction of "The
  31. Truth About Pyecraft" to the blazing horror of
  32. "Night Wire." An announcement will appear on your
  33. screen every time a new tale begins. Type /MON 40
  34. to Monitor Conference Room 40. After that the
  35. stories will come scrolling across your screen as
  36. they are presented.

  38. If you're an IBM-compatible owner with Windows, we
  39. recommend that you get the shareware program Skirzy
  40. from Greyware. This Windows program, specifically
  41. designed for GEnie's Conferences, allows you to
  42. open separate windows for incoming text from
  43. monitored rooms and live rooms -- so the stories
  44. won't get mixed up with the comments of your
  45. Conference friends. Skirzy is available on GEnie in
  46. the Windows RoundTable Software Library (keyword
  47. WINDOWS on Page 1335, menu option 3). The file
  48. numbers are:

  65. SFRT -- The Place to be!
  66.   
  67. The Science Fiction and Fantasy RoundTable on GEnie
  68. is the biggest, best, most protein-packed area of
  69. its kind on any online service. No matter what your
  70. interest in science fiction, fantasy or horror,
  71. you'll find something to your taste in the SFRT.

  73. SFRT1 (GEnie Page 470) deals with writing and
  74. reading SF/fantasy/horror. It's where most of the
  75. writers and editors hang out. Look in Bulletin
  76. Board Categories 8 through 12 for discussions of
  77. and by your favorite authors.

  80. SF/fantasy/horror media. TV, movies, radio -- if it
  81. deals with speculative fiction, from Doctor Who to
  82. Star Trek and Babylon 5, you'll find it here.

  84. SFRT3 (Page 472) deals mostly with SF fandom and
  85. conventions. The Fandom Weyrs of Pern, the Queen's
  86. Own, and many others gather here -- with
  87. discussion, group-stories and odd stuff well
  88. represented.

  90. In fact, if odd stuff is what you're after, the
  91. SFRT is the place to look. There's nothing that SF
  92. fans and pros won't talk about -- at length, in
  93. detail, and in very entertaining ways.

  99. SFRT1 on your calendar for Sunday evening, May 22,
  100. from 10:00 PM to Midnight Eastern time (7:00 to
