  5. shareware and information anywhere. It is the online home for members of Team
  6. OS/2, a grassroots movement by experienced enthusiasts who share their

  16. that's sure to ease the transition from MS-DOS and take some of the mystery

  18. OS/2 settings to get the best results from DOS programs.

  35. occasion, there ARE better tools available. For those times when you need to
  36. boot from a floppy diskette, BOOT2X.ZIP will help you create a boot floppy
  37. for OS/2 with just enough of the system on it to get the job done. And why
  38. mess with DISKCOPY when you can use a graphical, multi-threaded tool like PM
  39. Disk Copier/Formatter (file #1571 PMDCOPY.ZIP)? You'll also find 32-bit
  40. PK(UN)ZIP2.x-compatible utilities (files #592 ZIP19.EXE and #750 UNZ501.EXE)

  54. you need to dig in and get your hands virtually dirty by directly modifying

  58. shareware written by IBM employees.

  63. command prompt so you can replace DLLs and device drivers before the system
  64. locks them. It's a good alternative to a boot floppy for many tasks.

  66. wanted to know (and probably more!) about how OS/2 and your applications are

  71. Frequently Asked Questions, and file #1543 INT_SOM.ZIP provides an excellent
  72. introduction to the System Object Model (SOM), integral to the OS/2 Workplace
  73. Shell. IBM encourages programmers to use the SOM interface to help create
  74. well-integrated OS/2 applications. For GNU C/C++ for OS/2, search Library 17
  75. using the term GNU.

  77. The multimedia capabilities inherent in OS/2 present intriguing challenges
  78. for developers. For a taste of OS/2 multimedia entertainment, enjoy
  79. LASER05.ZIP, an excellent AVI movie. Beyond entertainment, sysop Brady
  80. Flowers has been writing software for OS/2 since 1987 and, most recently, has
  81. begun developing programs for the disabled. "There's a real need for it," he
  82. says, "and doing it makes me feel good." IBM's Continuous Speech Series
  83. allows voice interaction with the PC. "I'm going to be building that in to my
  84. software," Brady adds. "Expect to see more of it in the future."
