  4.   I have found the A2 RoundTable and A2Pro indispensable sources of
  5.   information and support, and hope to enjoy myself here for as long
  6.   as I can keep these two machines operating, which -- if the IIe is
  7.   any gauge -- should be well into the next millennium.

  11. As a new year begins, it's easy to see why more and more Apple II users are
  12. turning to the Apple II RoundTables on GEnie for support of their machines.
  13.   
  14. We know there are tons of great software out there for the Apple II. We know
  15. there are tons of great Apple II hardware add-ons available. We know there
  16. are still tons of questions people have about how to get more out of their
  17. Apple II systems. And we exist here to support all of those things -- to help
  18. you figure out where to get software to accomplish certain tasks; where to
  19. get hardware to make your Apple II faster, more powerful, more versatile, and
  20. more fun, and to help you figure out how to put it all together and take
  21. maximum advantage of what you have.

  23. And, of course, we're here to help you through times of confusion and
  24. trouble.

  26.   I cannot say enough about how valuable/wonderful/grand & glorious it
  27.   is to be able to post a question and get a correct and complete answer!
  28.   I am constantly amazed at the depth of knowledge of A2 folks, and their
  29.   willingness to answer.

  33. As time goes on, many major online networks are pulling the plug on Apple II
  34. support, or letting their Apple II support die a slow, lingering death, with
  35. less support and promotion, and less in the way of new products.
  36.   
  37. But here on GEnie we take a different approach. We know most people don't
  38. want to dump their perfectly good computer equipment just because it's not
  39. the latest hot flashy new thing to come down the pike! We know there's plenty
  40. of useful work plus a great deal of fun you can have with the computer you've
  41. already invested your money in -- not to mention the computer you've invested
  42. time in learning how to use! What's the point in starting over when you know
  43. perfectly well that you can get what you need done w ith what you already
  44. have?

  46. We're starting new programs all the time in A2, such as our new World Wide
  47. User Group, which is dedicated to improving Apple II user group support
  48. around the globe. In 1993 we announced GEM and Co-Pilot, two automated
  49. navigators to make GEnie easier and cheaper to use; in 1994 we hope to have
  50. major updates of both programs, plus maybe another surprise or two!

  52. Don't forget, we hold LIVE Real-Time Conferences every single night of the
  53. week from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM Eastern Time. We feature one of the most active
  54. Bulletin Boards on GEnie, with participation from more than three dozen Apple
  55. II software and hardware vendors and manufacturers, and we feature what is
  56. considered by many folks to be the largest Library of Apple II software
  57. available anywhere.

  59. If you've got Apple II problems, we're here to help... and we will be here
  60. for a long time to come!

  62. Don't believe the hype! The Apple II is alive and well on GEnie, and in the
  63. Apple II RoundTables we're here to prove it to anyone who doesn't believe it!
