- PaCifiST - A Giftware ST emulator for PC.
- -----------------------------------------
-
-
-
- This file will give you some tips for running PaCifiST the first time on your
- computer. It is not a replacement for the provided documentation! You're
- of course encouraged to read it.
-
- Once you've unarchived this distribution (be sure to recreate subdirs, with
- pkunzip -d under DOS for instance), you should have the following files:
-
-
- PCSTxxxx\ ; for instance PCST045 for v0.45
- |
- |----- DOCS\
- | |---- PACIFIST.DOC ; THE doc
- | \---- PACIFIST.REV ; revisions of the program
- |
- |----- STFILES\
- | |----- DESKTOP.INF ; Desktop configuration file
- | |----- DUMP_ROM.PRG ; ATARI ST program to dump a ROM <= 2.06
- | \----- DUMP_ROM.S ; ASM Source for this program
- |
- |----- DISK.ST ; Blank 720Kb disk image
- |----- FILE_ID.DIZ ; Description of this version
- |----- PACIFIST.EXE ; The program itself
- |----- PACIFIST.INI ; The configuration file [NEEDED]
- |----- PATCH.H68 ; Some program data [NEEDED]
- \----- README.1ST ; This text
-
- Two files (ST.LOG & JOY.CFG) will be created once you run the emulator.
- You can't run PaCifiST directly from a CDROM or any write-protected support.
-
- You *do* need a TOS (The name for an ST ROM) of either 192 or 256Kb. Read the
- doc for more info. Don't send me request for this, please.
-
- Before launching PACIFIST.EXE, you must edit the PACIFIST.INI file (You can
- use EDIT.EXE under DOS and the NOTEPAD of Windows). You may need to change
- the following directives:
-
- mount=c:\pcstxxxx\stfiles
- image=c:\pcstxxxx\disk.st
- logfile=c:\pcstxxxx\st.log
- tos=d:\motorola\tos...
- ...
-
- Just change the path & filename to tell PaCifiST WHERE to find the given
- files.
-
- Once it's done, launch Pacifist.exe, FROM ITS DIRECTORY. If the INI file is
- parsed without important problems, just press a key to enter the MONITOR
- screen. You need to type some commands:
-
- h bring the Help screen
- x eXit the emulator
- g Go in Atari ST emulation
-
- To bring back the monitor at any time, just press the key below ESC.
