  8. This file will give you some tips for running PaCifiST the first time on your
  9. computer. It is not a replacement for the provided documentation! You're
  10. of course encouraged to read it.
  11.  
  12. Once you've unarchived this distribution (be sure to recreate subdirs, with
  13. pkunzip -d under DOS for instance), you should have the following files:

  34. Two files (ST.LOG & JOY.CFG) will be created once you run the emulator.
  35. You can't run PaCifiST directly from a CDROM or any write-protected support.
  36.  
  37. You *do* need a TOS (The name for an ST ROM) of either 192 or 256Kb. Read the
  38. doc for more info. Don't send me request for this, please.
  39.  
  40. Before launching PACIFIST.EXE, you must edit the PACIFIST.INI file (You can
  41. use EDIT.EXE under DOS and the NOTEPAD of Windows). You may need to change
  42. the following directives:

  44. mount=c:\pcstxxxx\stfiles
  45. image=c:\pcstxxxx\disk.st
  46. logfile=c:\pcstxxxx\st.log
  47. tos=d:\motorola\tos...
  48. ...
  49.  
  50. Just change the path & filename to tell PaCifiST WHERE to find the given
  51. files.

  53. Once it's done, launch Pacifist.exe, FROM ITS DIRECTORY. If the INI file is
  54. parsed without important problems, just press a key to enter the MONITOR
  55. screen. You need to type some commands:

  57. h       bring the Help screen
  58. x       eXit the emulator
  59. g       Go in Atari ST emulation
  60.  
  61. To bring back the monitor at any time, just press the key below ESC.
