  6. This document puts the KwikWrite processor through its 
  7. paces to show you how your printer will behave. First, we
  8. will cover some commands which may or may not be supported
  9. by your printer.

  11. .emp'turns emphasize on
  12. Emphasized type, turned on by the command ".EMP", when
  13. supported by your printer, causes type to appear darker
  14. than normally.
  15. .nem'turns emphasized off
  16.  
  17. .dou'turns double on
  18. Double strike, signaled by ".DOU" may cause your printer 
  19. to strike a character twice, giving a heavy character.
  20. .nod'turns double off

  24. Centered Wide

  26. .wid
  27. Wide type (.WID), when supported by your printer, is 
  28. generally twice as wide as normal type. Note that it lasts 
  29. for only line.

  34. Centered Compressed

  36. Compressed type, when supported, (.COM) causes the printer 
  37. to print in smaller characters than normal. Notice that this 
  38. may effect the position of the margins.

  48. Bold type (.BOL) may be supported, and is also turned off                      
  49. after one line is printed.

  58. .lm 20
  59. Left and right margin may be set with the commands ".LM #" 
  60. and ".RM #", where # is the column of the margin setting.
  61. You may instruct the processor to justify text between 
  62. these margins with the ".JUST" command.

  64. .par
  65. Paragraphing is performed with the ".PAR" command. You may 
  66. also set negative indents for paragraphing with the ".IND 
  67. #" command.

  70. .par
  71. A negative indent, called an "undent", makes it easy to set
  72. the first part of a paragraph out to the left for a
  73. different emphasis. This makes numbering of pargraphs easy
  74. too.

  77. NOTE: Keep in mind that some of these commands react 
  78. differently on different printers. The KwikWrite manual 
  79. (appendix) explains how specific printers are supported.

  82. Titles may be set with the ".TITLE " command. Once set they
  83. will appear at the top of each page as it occurs. There are 
  84. various options associated with the title and ".page" 
  85. command.

  87. Prompt for an entry causes the printer to pause, and wait 
  88. for you to enter one line of text, so you can do runtime
  89. entry of text.

  95. The command ".SPA 2" causes the processor to begin double 
  96. spacing. Triple spacing is ".SPA 3", and single spacing
  97. may be returned to with ".spa 1"

  101. underline and bold - if supported by your printer).
