  10. These instructions assume that your system has Windows 95 installed and
  11. running properly.

  13. Important Note: These Games work and look best in a 16 bit color mode. Some 
  14.                 do require a 16 bit display driver.

  19. Automated Installation Instructions

  21. To begin the installation process simply insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
  22. If your machine does not support the auto-run feature you can just click START,
  23. then RUN and type in X:\START.EXE (where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM
  24. drive)  From this point on, just follow the on-screen instructions

  51. This is a AVI movie demo of the up and coming Half-Life Game.

  55. 1. From the Start Menu select "Run", type:

  59.    (where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.) Select OK.

  64. 1. If the AVI runs too slow from CD-ROM, copy the AVI x:\half-life\half.avi
  65.    to your local hard drive. For example, to copy the file to your current
  66.    directory, type the below from an MS-DOS Prompt:

  68.      copy x:\half-life\half.avi c:\temp or other directory of preference.

  76. ***** MotoRacer Interactive Demo *****

  80. 1. From the Start Menu select "Run", then type:

  82.          x:\motoracer\demo.exe

  84.    (where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.) Select OK.

  86. 2. For best graphic, select the "Options" from the Main Menu by
  87.    using the Tab key and selecting the Enter key. Tab down until
  88.    Screen Mode is highlighted and hit the Enter Key until 640x480
  89.    is selected. Also in "Options" set D3D to Filtered. Hit the Tab 
  90.    key until Accept is highlighted, then hit the Enter Key.

  92. 3. Now select the appropriate options to start the game.

  96. The following is done best from a DOS prompt.

  98. 1. If the game runs too slow from CD-ROM, copy the game to your local
  99.    harddrive. For example c:\>xcopy x:\motoracer\*.* c:\motoracer\ /e
  100.    (x = your CD-ROM drive letter.) If prompted if Motoracer is a file or
  101. directory, select "d" for directory.

  103. 2. From the Start Menu select "Run", type in c:\motoracer\demo.exe
  104.    and select OK.

  110. ***** Soda Off Road Racing Interactive Demo *****

  131. 1. This game requires the joystick to be calibrated properly to ensure proper
  132.    control of the vehicle.

  141. 1. From the Start Menu select "Run", then type:

  143.          x:\terademo\setup.exe

  145.    (where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.) Select OK.

  147. 2. Follow on-screen dialogs to complete installation.

  149. 3. Select Terracide Netdemo Rendition icon from the Terracide folder or
  150.    select Start, then select Programs, then select Terracide, and finally
  151.    select Terracide Netdemo Rendition.

  153. 4. Follow on-screen instructions for game startup.

  156. Known Limitations:
  157.  
  158. 1. Some sound cards that are not completely Sound Blaster-compatible will
  159.    cause the system to hang.
  160.  
  161. 2. The sound card driver can be disabled temporarily for this demo by following
  162.    the steps below.
  163.  
  164.         a. Select Start Menu, select Settings, Control Panel, open System icon.
  165.  
  166.         b. Select the Device Manager Tab, select the "Sound, video and game
  167.         controllers" + sign to display the devices.
  168.  
  169.         c. Select the Sound Card Controller and select the properties button,
  170.         check the "Disable in this hardware profile", select OK, and close
  171.         System Properties.

  176. ***** Wipeout XL Interactive Demo *****

  180. 1. From the Start Menu select "Run", type:

  188. 3. Select Wipeout XL Demo icon from the Wipeout XL folder or select Start,
  189.    then select Programs, then select Psygnosis, the select Wipeout XL, and
  190.    finally select Wipeout XL Demo.

  192. 4. To configure the game, run the game, then:

  194.         a.  From the Device menu, select Change.
  195.         b.  From Device, select Direct3D HAL.
  196.         c.  Select OK.
  197.         d.  Select Resolution.
  198.         e.  Select 640x480.
  199.         f.  Select Play Game.

  203. 1.  This game will not function without a DirectX compliant sound card
  204. present and functional.
