  8. The Directories contained on the Companion CD
  9.  
  10. Animatio        This directory contains all of the 'killer' NITRO animations.
  11.         This program automatically loads AutoDesk Animation Player 
  12.         for you.
  13.  
  14. CACHE   These are the HyperWare HyperDisk Speedkit files.
  15.         PLEASE READ THE WARNINGS BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THIS KIT.
  16.  
  17. CDCHECK This directory contains the CDCHECK diagnostic and testing program.
  18.         CDCHECK is discussed thoroughly in The CD-ROM Book.
  19.  
  20. GRAPHIC This directory contains the Graphic WorkShop for Windows (GWSWIN): 
  21.     PaintShop Pro (PSP) and Photo Show 3-D (WINVIEW).

  23. MULTIMED This directory contains VIDVUE, a multimedia player/slideshow 
  24.      utility and image viewer/utility. PLEASE, read the accompanying 
  25.      text in VIDVUE's directory.

  43.     dozens of Windows sound wave files you can use with NITRO.

  45. VHELP   This directory contains sounds used by various applications.

  47. VIDEO   This directory contains an animation player and more sample 
  48.     animations (ANIMAT); A collection of AVI animation files (AVI); 
  49.     North Coast Software's PhotoMorph Demonstration (MORPH) and 
  50.     Microsoft's Video for Windows runtime module (VFW) and 
  51.     AutoDesk's Animation Player for Windows.

  55.     At CD-ROM 'press time' SONY's D.A.D.C. division (Terre Haute, IN)
  56.     has included an outstanding 'movie' for you. This movie is an 
  57.     excellent overview of how Sony makes CDs. To run this movie, at 
  58.     the DOS prompt type:

  60.     CD x:SONY <enter>      (where xx is your CD drive letter) and 
  61.     type SETUP <enter>
  62.     
  63.     or to run from Windows, select RUN from the file menu of the
  64.     Program Manager and type:

  66.     x:\SONY\SETUP.EXE       (where x is your CD drive letter)

  70. DRIVERS We have included several drivers which some users may need. 
  71.     They are listed below.

  74. With ANIPLAY for Windows, the animation player, you can play *.FLI 
  75. and *.FLC files under Windows. 
  76.  
  77. ANIPLAY also lets you play script files with the AAS extension.
  78. You can use the following switches with these script files:
  79.  
  80. -F                      Plays animation in full screen mode
  81. -N WAV file       Plays wave file simultaneously
  82.  
  83. To start the animations from File Manager, copy the following files:
  84.  
  85.   AAPLAY.DLL
  86.   ANIPLAY.EXE
  87.  
  88. to a directory included in the DOS path. For example, you could copy 
  89. the files to your Windows directory.
  90.  
  91. You may also need to 'associate' files with the .FLI, .FLC and .AAS extensions 
  92. with the ANIPLAY.EXE program file. To do this, run FILE MANAGER from the
  93. Program Manager. It is HIGHLY advisable to read your Microsoft Windows Manual
  94. in the 'associating files' section.
