  1. Welcome to this CD Rom Magic 1 "Telecommunication"!

  3. Before you occupy yourself with the software on this 
  4. disc, you better read this text first.
  5.  
  6. This CD-ROM contains mostly BBS software. BBS stands for 
  7. Bulletin Board System. To use a BBS you need a PC and a 
  8. modem. With the modem connected to a phone-line you can 
  9. call a BBS and "download" programs. Mostly you pay a fee 
  10. for using the BBS or you have to dial a phonenumber with a 
  11. price per minute. 
  12. Furthermore you have to pay your telephonecosts. A program 
  13. with a 1 MB size has a download time of 25 minutes at a 
  14. 9600 bps speed. Your monthly telephone bill will reach such 
  15. heights, that looking for alternatives pays off.

  17. This CD-ROM is such an alternative. The structure of this 
  18. CD-ROM is like a Bulletin Board. Through menu's you can 
  19. explore this CD-ROM. If you find something of your interest, 
  20. just double-click and the program will be copied (downloaded) 
  21. onto your harddisk. Thats the work we've done for you,
  22. downloading all these programs and creating this CD-ROM.

  24. By far the most programs on this disc belong to the so-called
  25. shareware-concept. Shareware is a way to bring software
  26. to the users. You are allowed to use your shareware 
  27. programs for a certain time in order to try and find out
  28. whether they fit in with your expectations. Regularly, 
  29. the instructions will tell you for what period you can 
  30. use your programs freely. After a certain time, shareware
  31. programs must be registered if you want to continue. 
  32. Then you pay a certain amount for the program you want 
  33. after which, very often, you receive help, updates for
  34. free and a printed manual.
  35. Of course you have already paid for this CDROM, but that
  36. was only for our effort to make these programs available 
  37. to you in a simple way (please note: not all files are 
  38. programs!). In this way, a large group of shareware 
  39. programs are easily accessible. However, you still did 
  40. NOT pay for the use of these programs! All programs are
  41. their makers'properties.

  43. Please be so kind as to respect the shareware-concept 
  44. and to support it, making yourself registered.
  45. The authors gave much of their time and energy to their
  46. programs; it is grace to them that you can try and use
  47. their products before buying them. By the way, not all 
  48. programs will be suitable for all PC's. Your instructions
  49. will tell you what is needed for a certain program. 
  50. We developed this CDROM most carefully; nevertheless we
  51. cannot guarantee a correct processing of all programs. 
  52. We are not responsible for any damage. In case of problems,
  53. please contact the maker of your program. Your instructions
  54. will provide you with a postal or e-mail address.
