  3. Born in Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, Fritz Wunderlich studied in Freiburg at the Musikhochschule.

  5. He possessed probably the most beautiful and best schooled German lyric tenor voice for many a year.  The finest Tamino in MozartΓÇÖs Die Zauberfl├╢te since Richard Tauber.  He died tragically in a domestic accident at the age of 36.
