Long ago, before men walked the earth, the god, Sus'istinnako, sang in the darkness. And his voice was heard by a spider, who spun his webs alone in the endless night. So the spider spun a web that was as fine as silk and supple as a spear, and the god laid his fingers upon it. And the web made music. Then, the voice of the god rang out to the sound of the music, and in his song was his creation.
First he sang of a man. And a man was made. But he could not be seen. Then the god sang of light. And light came to the earth. And the god saw the man of whom he had sung. And the man was the father of all the people.
Then Sus'istinnako sang of woman. And at the sound of his song two women appeared, sisters, standing hand-in-hand. And the eldest sister was the mother of all the people of the god, Sus'istinnako. And the younger was the mother of all the rest of mankind.
