A song, usually in four parts, in which each part sings exactly the same tune and words, entering at set intervals of time. After the first voice has sung the first line, the second voice starts the first line while the first voice is singing the second line, and so on. As a result the singing of a round can go on for ever, round and round the various overlaid parts. It is the simple form of the classical fugue.
