Time passed on and the time came for P'an-ku to die. And when he died his breath was driven forth from his body, and his breath became the wind and the clouds. Then his voice sounded in the clouds and his voice was thunder. And his eyes became the sun and the moon. And his limbs, the earth. And his blood, the rivers, his skin, the plants, his hair, the trees, his marrow, the gold, his sweat, the rain. Then the parasites on his body became impregnated by the winds, which were the breath of his Voice. And from them were born the fathers of all men.
