Caroline was born in South Africa and studied at the University of CapeTown with Lamar Crowson. She then studied in England, at the Royal Northern College of Music, as a postgraduate student. After two years there as Junior Fellow in Accompaniment, she moved to London to work as a freelance pianist and singing coach. She works regularly at the Britten Pears school as a staff pianist.
