  75. third party sound cards. Should Exile start crashing,
  76. select Older Machine from the options menu for crash

  157. Troubleshooting:

  159. Exile is a large, elaborate game, and Windows can occasionally
  160. be a delicate operating system. If you're having troubles with
  161. Exile crashing, take the following steps.
  162. 1. Select Older Machine from the Options menu.
  163. 2. Turn the sound off altogether.
  164. 3. Don't change the volume on your sound card while playing
  165.    Exile.
  166. 4. If using Windows 95, turn off the disk compression,
  167.    checking, and maintenance utilities while playing Exile.
  168.  
  169. Exile will change the colors in the other Windows while it
  170. runs - this is an unfortunate side effect of using 256 colors.

  172. Exile has proven to be a very stable and reliable game, in general.
  173. Taking these steps should make Exile run safely. If not,
