  13. This is the official continuation of the famous (and fabulous :-)
  14. system monitor from Andreas Gelhausen.

  17. What is Scout?
  18. ==============

  20. Scout is a tool that allows you to monitor your computer system. It
  21. displays many different things -- like tasks, ports, assigns,
  22. expansion boards, resident commands, interrupts, etc. -- and you
  23. can perform some certain actions on them.
  24.  
  25. For example you can freeze tasks, close windows and screens, release
  26. semaphores or remove locks, ports and interrupts.
  27.  
  28. Through AmiTCP it's also possible to use Scout as an TCP/IP service.
  29.  
  30. Since version 2.0 of Scout you can use nearly all implemented
  31. functions through shell parameters. Therefore it's not necessary
  32. to install MUI for using Scout, but you will need MUI if you want
  33. to use Scout with its graphical user interface.
