Their songs were always delivered - wilh a nudge anda wink,an endless parade of ludicrous cobers and raunchy metal cliches colliding into urban dance bears. But, ouer the past Few years, the Poppies haue become increasingly vehement and serious. So be warned-their latest release contains narya a laugh, relying instead on sharp rhythms, desperate lyrics, l and - a rumbling sonic guitar assaulr. The combination works surprisingly well, though, revealing a Fierce intensily beneath that bemused Pop exterior.
