imPRESSion LITE (TM) <ASP> for MS-Windows(TM) version 1.01 VENDOR.TXT - Vendor information Last updated: April, 1998 NOTE imPRESSion LITE is a new program for drawing and publishing. It covers two different domains: DTP and vector graphics. DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS The imPRESSion LITE software and the accompanying documentation are SHAREWARE. You may make as many copies of the software as you wish, give them to others, upload them to any BBS or FTP site worldwide, include them in software collections such as CD-ROM disks, distribute them through Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution, and distribute them in any other possible way, as long as you meet the following restrictions: 1. Distribution is allowed ONLY if the package is complete. Please contact BNW Systems SRL to obtain a complete package suitable for distribution. You may download anytime imPRESSion LITE from our site: http://www.impression.ro/download.htm. If the version you have obtained is over 12 months old, please contact BNW Systems SRL to ensure that you have the most current version. You may send a message to version@impression.ro and get an automatic answer. This version was released in April, 1998. 2. The evaluation package of the imPRESSion LITE software may be distributed freely. Disk Vendors, Computer Clubs, BBSs and other vendors may charge a nominal fee for distribution of the program. The recipient of imPRESSion LITE must be informed, in advance, that the fee paid to acquire imPRESSion LITE does not relieve the recipient from purchasing the Licensed Version of imPRESSion LITE if the recipient continues to use imPRESSion LITE. 3. The evaluation package of the imPRESSion LITE software may not be sold or licensed. Neither may a fee be charged for its use. 4. Neither the software nor its documentation may be amended or altered in any way. 5. Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable. 6. Many BBSs add a small text file (advertisement) to each archived file. Other BBSs add a small message with their BBS name and phone number into the compressed file, which will display when the file is uncompressed. Either of these methods of mentioning your BBS are acceptable and may be used, provided the program and documentation is otherwise unmodified and complete. 7. By granting you the right to distribute the evaluation copy of the imPRESSion LITE software, you do not become the owner of this software in any form. 8. BNW Systems SRL accepts no responsibility in case the software malfunctions or does not function at all. 9. BNW Systems SRL can never be held responsible for damage, directly or indirectly resulting from the use of the imPRESSion LITE software. 10. Using the imPRESSion LITE software means that you agree to these conditions. Any other use, distribution or representation of the imPRESSion LITE software is expressly forbidden without the written permission of BNW Systems SRL. You may not list imPRESSion LITE in advertisements, catalogs, or other literature which describes our product as "FREE SOFTWARE". Shareware is "TRY BEFORE YOU BUY" software, it is not free. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved to BNW Systems SRL. DISK SETS & CD-ROMs Vendors who wish to distribute the imPRESSion LITE package as part of a collection (such as PsL's Monthly Shareware CD-ROM set, or a CD-ROM package) may do so provided that all the other restrictions are met. If you wish to add any of our programs to a CD-ROM or other collection, please check the release date of the version you have. It lets you create professional looking publications without switching between different applications. Drawing features - Control Palette for editing the selected object's properties. - Special objects: star, bubble star, regular polygons, spiral, etc. You can edit these objects at any time with the control palette or with the shape tool. For instance, you can round the corners of a triangle. - More than 150 gradient shapes. The color variations in gradients can be controlled with functions. - Extended alignment possibilities between objects, alignment to a text baseline. - Alignment of objects to a path. Distribution of objects along a path. - Object properties: printable, visible, locked, named. - Graphic libraries. - Object Selector: you can create complex selecting criteria with the object selector roll-up. - You can select objects with a specified name, type, outline, fill or applied transformations. - You can create "guidelines" from an object if you select the "snap to path" property. - Special effects: spiral, spherize, ripple and so on. If you applied an effect to an object, you will be able to modify the effect's parameters. - Extrude and lathing effects. - Simple bitmap filters: levels, curves, contrast-brightness. - The bitmaps are linked to the document. You can specify the preview size and color depth for each imported bitmap. The filters are applied to the original bitmaps only when they are printed. - Cropping a bitmap in any shape. - You can modify the cropping shape with the shape tools. - Shape Manager for applying a shape to an object or text frame. DTP features - Master Pages. - Automatic page numbering. - Automatic page number for next/previous frame. - Font and paragraph styles. - Bullets, drop caps, widow and orphan controls. - The text frames can have any shape. The purpose of this evaluation period is to allow you to determine whether the program meets your needs before purchasing it. Once the evaluation period has ended, you agree to either purchase your copy of the software through registration, or to stop using it. If you have sent your registration fee to a imPRESSion LITE registration site, you may continue to use your unregistered copy beyond the end of the evaluation period until your Registration Key or Package arrives. EVALUATION PERIOD EXPIRATION Your evaluation period expires after 30 days. If you choose not to stop using it, then you must know that the nag window will be displayed 2 seconds longer each day till registration. At every save operation you will be asked to register. REGISTRATION THIS IS NOT FREE SOFTWARE! If you paid a shareware vendor for this program, you paid for the service of copying the program, and not for the program itself. Proceeds from such transactions would never reach the maker of this product. You may evaluate this product, but if you decide to make use of it, you should register your copy. To register: fill out one of the ORDER*.TXT files (please print!), and return the resulting form to a imPRESSion LITE shareware registration site. THE REGISTRATION KEY You may choose to receive a registration key if you already have the shareware version of imPRESSion LITE. Although you are allowed to evaluate the imPRESSion LITE software for 30 days, it is ILLEGAL to use it in combination with a key, produced without authorization of BNW Systems SRL, or generated by any software not distributed by BNW Systems SRL. This warranty extends for ninety (90) days from the date of purchase. There is no warranty after expiration of the warranty period. Neither BNW Systems SRL nor anyone else who has been involved in the creation, production or delivery of the imPRESSion LITE software or the documentation grants any other warranties with respect to the contents of the software, the written materials and each specifically disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for any purpose. Except as stated herein, in no event shall BNW Systems SRL or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or incidental damages (including damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or other pecuniary loss, arising out of the use of or inability to use such product even if BNW Systems SRL has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Because some states do not allow the exclusion of limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitation may not apply to you. BNW Systems SRL reserves the right to revise the software and the written materials and to make changes from time to time in the contents without obligation to notify any person. The imPRESSion LITE software is protected by copyright law, which applies to the computer software as well, except for that you may make copies of the software solely for backup or archive purposes and transfer the software to hard disk provided that the software is used as specified herein.
