Why doesn't the built in FTP client connect to my server?
WebDesign's built in FTP client supports most FTP servers. However it is incompatible with some. If you need to connect to an FTP server you should try using an FTP client such as Anarchie or Net Finder.
Why does the HTML Syntax Checker say that some tags such as EMBED are invalid even though WebDesign provides them?
Some tags, such as the EMBED tag are not official HTML 4.0 tags. They are however supported by most major browsers which include Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. This also applies to some attributes. These tags and attributes will produce errors in the HTML syntax checker and will not show up in the properties list. Although most of the time it is OK to use these tags, you should always view your page in different browsers to ensure compatibility.
You can however add custom tags to WebDesign's database by going to Preferences->HTML Tags. From here you can add new tags as well as add extra attributes to existing tags.
How can I create plugins for WebDesign?
Creating plugins for WebDesign is extremely easy. Rage Software and DerazSoft provide an easy to use Plugin Maker which allows you to create plugins in a visual development environment. The Plugin Maker interface is much like WebDesign's interface. It includes a tools palette for creating controls and a properties window to edit the control's properties. Once you have created a plugin just place the plugin inside the Plugins folder. When you open WebDesign you will be able to see your plugin in the Tools Window ready for you to use.
You may also distribute your plugins to other users of WebDesign. In fact Rage Software & DerazSoft encourage you to share your plugins among other Web Developers so that they can benefit from your work.
