WRPASS is a program designed to recover passwords which lock WordPerfect files. When WordPerfect locks a file it actually saves the file in a scrambled format, making it impossible for anyone to decipher the file without the password.
WRPASS uses a process known as block frequency analysis to unlock WordPerfect files. When recovering the password, WRPASS reads in a portion of the WordPerfect file and uses mathematical models of the file format structure as a guide for its analysis.
