HISTORY:
The attack on Wheeler Field cought most of the P-40 and P-36 fighters of
the 7th Fighter Command on the ground. Six pilots, however, managed to
get their planes into the air. Overwhelmingly outnumbered, they scored
the first American victories of the war, shooting down 12 enemy planes.
MISSION:
Escort a flight of D3A dive bombers on their attack on the Ewa Marine
Corps Air Station. Suppress any enemy AA guns and strafe parked bombers.
Be on the lookout for enemy fighters.
