  1. These are some updates to the Beachhead 2000 game as of 05/19/2000.

  4. Increased Framerates
  5. --------------------
  6. To increase your framerates, remember to use the 1,2,3, and 4 keys.  Often times a massive amount of attacking units can decrease framerates, and changing your screen resolution can be a big help!

  9. Mouse Sensitivity
  10. -----------------
  11. By hitting the "+" or "-" keys you can increase and decrease mouse sensitivity to your desired speed.  There are five levels of mouse sensitivity in the Beachhead 2000 game.  If you do not get the deisred speed by using this method, click START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL and select the MOUSE icon.  Here you can adjust mouse sensitivity to assist you further in Beachhead 2000.  NOTE:  Only the speed of the X-AXIS (movement from left to right) is affected by the in-game adjustments.

  14. Inverted Mouse Controls

  16. To invert the mouse controls, hit the "I" key on your keyboard.  This will alternate your Y-AXIS controls.  The default is MOUSE FORWARD=up and MOUSE BACK=down.

  21. For those interested, I have included a
  22. frames per second counter in the game.
  23. Pressing the:

  25. "f" key
  26.  
  27. toggles the score to a fps display. This
  28. is good for benchmarking or estimating the
  29. speed of the game on machines running at
  30. other clock frequencies. Use the:
  31.  
  32. "." or ">" key
  33.  
  34. to dial in the processor clock rate.
  35. There will be a letter "L" after the fps
  36. display if the frame limiter is on. The
  37. frame limiter keeps the maximum frame
  38. rate pinned to between 30 and 35 fps.
  39. Pressing the:

  41. "l" key (lower case "L")
  42.  
  43. toggles the frame limiter on/off.
