Tip0=Welcome to FileQuest! The easiest and best file manager for Windows. Choose "Help / Tip of the day" to open this dialog again.
Tip1=Pressing the 'Insert' key creates a new folder.
Tip2=Press 'Alt + Insert' creates and opens a new folder simultaneously.
Tip3=The Explorer Bar shows all folders on your computer.
Tip4=You can add/remove the Personal and Bookmark tabs from the Explorer Bar. Choose "View / Explorer".
Tip5=You can align the Explorer Bar on either side of the screen. Choose "View / Explorer" and select the desired alignment.
Tip6=You can show/hide additional toolbars. Choose "View / Toolbars " and select a toolbar to show or to hide.
Tip7=Always use the right mouse button to click on everything. In most cases a context menu will open.
Tip8=You can add programs, folders, web addresses, or any file that you access regularly to FileQuest's Go menu. Choose "Go / Add Tool".
Tip9=You can show or hide the text on the toolbar buttons. Choose "View / Toolbars / Text Labels".
Tip10=To quick search for a file or file types on the local drive, Press 'Ctrl + Q' and enter the file name or file types (e.g. *.bmp) and press enter.
Tip11=You can change the default font for open windows. Choose "View / Fonts / File View".
Tip12=You can change the default font for the Explorer Bar. Choose "View / Fonts / Tree View".
Tip13=You can always restore FileQuest fonts to the Windows defaults. Choose "View / Fonts / Restore Default".
Tip14=FileQuest can behave like Windows Explorer and show only one window at a time, or it can multiple windows at the same time. To switch view modes, choose "View / Choose View Mode".
Tip15=You can filter the current window to show files by criteria. E.g., Open "C:\Windows" and filter it to show only "*.exe" files. Choose "View / Set Filter" or press 'Ctrl + F'.
Tip16=To remove a filter from the current window, Choose "View / Remove Filter".
Tip17=You can resize column headers to fit the size of the window when in Details mode. Choose "View / View / Resize Columns", or press 'Ctrl + Z'.
Tip18=You can add folders that you access regularly to FileQuest's Favorites menu. Choose "Favorites / Add Favorite".
Tip19=You can open a DOS window with the path set to the current window's path. Just press F4 when the window is in focus.
Tip20=You can bookmark a window to easily open it again. Choose "Edit / Create Bookmark", and select a bookmark number.
Tip21=To restore a bookmark, choose "Edit / Restore Bookmark", and select a bookmark number.
Tip22=You can ask the current window to select/highlight files by criteria. E.g., Open "C:\Windows" and select all "*.exe" files. Choose "Edit / Select" or press 'Ctrl + S'.
Tip23=You can Format, Label, Create rescue disks, etc..., from the "Disk" menu item.
Tip24=Personal folders are virtual folders that group files by criteria. E.g., all *.doc files on your hard drive. The files remain in their original location on your hard drive.
Tip25=To create a personal folder, click the Personal tab in the Explorer Bar, and click on "New Folder". Create new criteria for the folder or select files by dragging and dropping them, or use "File / Copy To".
Tip26=To update a personal folder, open it from the Personal tab, and click the Update button.
Tip27=To update all personal folders, Choose "Personal / Update Personal Folders".
Tip28=A Report is a predefined search that you can run at any time. Choose "Tools / Add Report" to add a report to FileQuest.
Tip29=You can create/run a report by selecting it from the menu. Choose "Tools / Create Report", and select the report you wish to create/run.
Tip30=Rules help you automate operations you do on your computer. E.g. backup all your word documents. Choose "Tools / Add Rule" to create a rule.
Tip31=You execute a rule by selecting it from the menu. Choose "Tools / Execute Rule", and select the rule you wish to execute.
Tip32=You can change the order of items added to the Go, Favorites, and Tools menu. Open the menu and choose the manager for the items (E.g. "Tools / Rules Manager"). Use the arrows to change the order of items.
Tip33=Multiple users can use FileQuest. Every user can have their own settings, personal folders, etc. Choose "Tools / Add User".
Tip34=You can disable the confirmation for file operations ( copy, paste, move...). Choose "Tools / Options" and select the General tab.
Tip35=You can disable the FileQuest's splash window. Choose "Tools / Options" and select the General tab.
Tip36=You can make FileQuest open a default folder each time it loads. Choose "Tools / Options" and select the General tab.
Tip37=FileQuest lets you change the background color and even choose a background wallpaper. Choose "Tools / Options" and select the View tab.
Tip38=You can change the background color for windows. Choose "Tools / Options" and select the folder tab.
Tip39=You can show large icons in the Explorer bar. Choose "Tools / Options", select the "System" tab, and check the "Use Large Icons" check box.
Tip40=You can add an "Open With..." context menu item to all file types. Choose "Tools / Options", select the "System" tab, and check the "Add open with to context menus" check box.
Tip41=You can drag and drop files to every dialog that requires a file name to be input, such as the 'Run' dialog, 'Add Tool' etc.
Tip42=FileQuest has full drag and drop capabilities, both within the application, and also with Microsoft Windows.
Tip43=You can run a program, open a file, or go to an Internet address by choosing "File / Run" or pressing 'Ctrl + R'.
Tip44=You can add an Internet address to the Go menu. Choose "Go / Add Tool", and type the address name in the Command edit box.
Tip45=You can open the original folder of a file in a search window. Click on the file and choose "Edit / Find Original Folder".
Tip46=You can remove items from a Personal folder or a Rule Result window. Select the items you wish to remove, and choose "File / Remove". The file will still remain on your hard drive.
Tip47=To open a DOS window instead of regular window, hold down the CTRL key before opening the folder
Tip48=To open a favorite from the Tray Bar menu in Explorer, hold down the SHIFT key and select the Favorite from the menu
