  1. Here are a few resources for the intrepid ones among you early Eight adopters...
  2. These are free, and I offer no guarantees that they won't cause mayhem.  But since they are so simple, what could go wrong?  Seriously.

  4. Standard ResEdit warnings apply.
  5. • don't do this if you don't know what you're doing
  6. • make sure you have a way to boot your machine if you roach your System and/or Finder files.
  7. • Keep a copy of your unmodified System/Finder files (in separate folders!!!)
  8. • Share and enjoy!

  13. I. A modified 'fmn2' resource for Finder 8.

  15.    Changes to the 'Special' menu:
  16.    1. Adds 'command-T' to empty the Trash
  17.    2. Adds a 'Quit' 
  18.  
  19.    Changes to 'File' menu:
  20.    1. Adds 'command-S' for sharing
  21.  
  22.    Just paste these into your Finder 8.0 file.
  23.    Overwrite the old fmn2 ID=521, 524.

  26. II. A modified 'DLOG' resource for System 8.
  27. (Use 'bigga 14"' for 640 x 480 display mode, and use 'bigga 16"' for higher resolution modes.)

  29.    1. Stretches 'Open' and 'Save' dialog boxes to make use of larger screens.

  31.    Just paste these into your System 8 file.  
  32.    Overwrite the old DLOG & DITL ID=-6043, -6042, -4000, -3999.
