You are about to start using the ANIMAC II Pencil Test System, perhaps the most up-to-date and easy-to-use animation pencil testing system available.
This manual describes the use of the ANIMAC software. It assumes that you are familiar with the Macintosh computer and its "System" software, that you can handle the "Mouse" and use the "Buttons", "Menus", "Windows" and "Dialog Boxes" that the Macintosh computer provides, and that are similar in all Macintosh programs.
If you haven't used a Macintosh computer before, it is strongly recommended that you read its manual to familiarize yourself with its operation, and that you experiment with the computer - for instance by using the special tutorial disk that is provided with the Macintosh. The Mac is perhaps the world's easiest computer to use, so it shouldn't take you long to learn!
When you feel that you have the necessary basic skills to use the Mac you are ready to start using the ANIMAC System.
IMPORTANT ! Before setting up the system, read the warnings on the next page. It is also recommended that you familiarize yourself with this manual before using the ANIMAC Program. The software installation instructions are especially important.
Also, before using the ANIMAC software, please double-click and read the "Read Me First" information file that you find on the ANIMAC disk. This file contains the most recent information and instructions, which may not be present in this manual.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have the "LE" (Limited Edition) version of ANIMAC, some functions are disabled. This is indicated in this manual, and these menus and buttons will be inactive in the "LE" version.
