  4. Overview
  5. --------
  6. WinShell  is  a multi-purpose  shell used to easily accomplish many
  7. common  file  management  tasks.   Through  the  use  of   external
  8. programs  WinShell  handles  uuencoding  and uudecoding, as well as
  9. many  PGP  actions.  Internally,  WinShell can zip, unzip, show the
  10. contents  of  archives,  and even view files contained in archives.
  11. For maximum flexibility,  WinShell  allows  the user to define four
  12. menu items and the action that should occur when they are selected.

  14. Changes from version 2.4:

  16. Fixed a bug in the zip viewer.
  17. Fixed a bug in the error handler for the user defined menu items.
  18. Added 2 popup menus to the selected files list box.
  19. Added an unzip prompt to allow a new 'extract to' path.
  20. The destination path shown in the zip prompt is no longer truncated.
  21. The source & destination directory boxes no longer lose focus after 
  22. a keypress.

  30. Installing
  31. ----------
  32. Run the included setup program to install WinShell.

  34. All changes made to your system will be logged to
  35. SETUP.LOG, which is used by the included uninstaller.

  38. Using PGP With WinShell
  39. -----------------------
  40. I have  learned that  WinShell is incompatible with some versions
  41. of PGP.   This version is fully compatible with PGP 2.6.2 and PGP
  42. 2.6.2i. In a future version of WinShell I will try to add support
  43. for the European PGP versions.

  46. About WinShell
  47. --------------
  48. WinShell is distributed as freeware. It was written in Visual
  49. Basic,  so it requires vbrun300.dll.  I wrote it for the sole 
  50. purpose of putting all the  programs that I use alot together 
  51. in a more usable manner via a GUI.
