MPGSPLIT splits an ISO11172 system layer stream into seperate video and
audio compression layer streams. The video stream can then be played
with an MPEG video player (mpeg_play, VMPEG, DMPEG etc.). The audio
stream can probably be played with Xing software on a PC (I couldn't
try without a soundcard) if it's a layer I or layer II file (very likely).
This is a "one evening quick hack" type of program, tested with exactly
one file (MPEGAVI, posted to alt.binaries.multimedia recently) so don't
expect too much. If the multiplexed stream contains more than one
video or audio stream, only the first of each is extracted. Timing
information is discarded (or displayed if you use the -v option).
