  12.   * Since a lot of people don't appreciate the changes microsoft
  13.     made to Windows Vista with its UAC limitations, the Zoom Player
  14.     installer now lets you choose between two modes:
  15.  
  16.     Standard install where dynamic files are saved in the AppData
  17.     (Application Data) directory and static files are saved in the
  18.     install directory.  This is required when running Windows Vista
  19.     with UAC enabled or running Windows XP with a limited user account.
  20.  
  21.     Legacy mode where all the files are saved in the selected directory.
  22.     This is easier to backup, but wont work properly when running
  23.     Vista with UAC enabled or Windows XP on a limited user account.
  24.     With Legacy mode selected, the file extension association functionality
  25.     is restored to Windows XP levels (UAC under Windows Vista limits some
  26.     file extension association functions such as changing file icons).
  27.  
  28.   * To maintain compatibility with Windows Vista's user account control
  29.     (UAC) mechanism, the Zoom Player installer (using Standard Install)
  30.     will move all files that require modification to the windows Application
  31.     Data directory (Can be reached by typing "%AppData%\Zoom Player"
  32.     in any folder window).
  33.  
  34.     In addition to the move, user-specified skins must be re-selected
  35.     through the skin selection dialog.
  36.  
  37.   * Zoom Player now warns you when it detects you are running in
  38.     legacy mode under restricted file access (UAC in Vista or a limited
  39.     user account under XP/Vista).
  40.  
  41.   * New "Auto-Configure" button on the Smart Play options dialog.
  42.     When clicked, all current decoder configuration will be reset
  43.     and then the system is scanned for the best decoder configuration
  44.     using the currently installed decoders.
  45.  
  46.   * New F8/F9 skin modes (equivalent to the Onyx Lite skin).
  47.  
  48.   * Full EVR (Enhanced Video Renderer) support.
  49.     Please note that due to a Microsoft issue/bug, you must use
  50.     YUY2 as the colorspace, otherwise color control features
  51.     will not function.

  53.   * Added support for Haali's Video Renderer technology.
  54.     Haali's Video Renderer uses Bicubic interpolation of video using
  55.     3D hardware.  This means improved video quality, especially when
  56.     up-scaling to higher resolution.  Older 3D Graphic card may not
  57.     be supported (Cards with PS 1.4 or better should work well).

  59.   * Zoom Player can now communicate with uTorrent's Web UI interface
  60.     in order to display download progress within the Media Library
  61.     and File Browsing fullscreen navigation interfaces.  This feature
  62.     is accessible under "Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display /
  63.     Fullscreen Navigation / File Tracker".  Press the "?" button on
  64.     this page for additional information.

  66.   * Zoom Player can now keep track with eMule's temporary files directory
  67.     in order to display download progress within the Media Library
  68.     and File Browsing fullscreen navigation interfaces.  This feature

  73.   * New "Download Manager" navigation interface (Ctrl+"J"), allowing you
  74.     to get an overview of your currently downloading files (compatible with
  75.     eMule and uTorrent).

  77.   * The File Navigation interface now shows the drive sizes and free space.

  79.   * The Scene Cut editor has been simplified and enhanced.  The Scene cut
  80.     editor no longer requires you to click on the save button, saving is
  81.     done automatically now. A new edit button allows you to edit entries
  82.     without having to remove an old entry first.  Lastly, the scene cut
  83.     interface layout has been updated to make it simpler to use.

  85.   * Zoom Player's ".zpl" playlist format has been extended to support
  86.     TAG data (author,composer,artist,etc).  All TAG data read from
  87.     a media file (ID3,ApeTAG,WMA Tag,etc) is automatically saved
  88.     within the play list format (allowing you to override TAG data
  89.     display without actually modifying the source media file).
  90.  
  91.   * New "Configure Subtitle Filter" button (Adv. Options / Playback /
  92.     Video & Subtitles) allowing you to configure the Subtitle filter
  93.     more easily.
  94.  
  95.   * Options dialog tree nodes now have an icon to make them easier to
  96.     navigate and remember.
  97.  
  98.   * The Media Library, File Browser and Playlist fullscreen
  99.     navigation interfaces now offer a "Quick Search" option
  100.     allowing you to more easily browse through large listings.
  101.     The Quick Search option is accessible by navigating to the
  102.     right and selecting the "Quick Search" entry.
  103.  
  104.   * The Media Library and File Browser navigation functions have
  105.     been restructured so that the sorting function is now part
  106.     of a sub-menu.
  107.  
  108.   * "Select All" and "Clear Selection" functions have been added
  109.     to the Media Library and File Browser navigation interfaces
  110.     as a sub-menu under the "Select" function.

  112.   * The Playlist navigation interface has been restructured so
  113.     that the sorting method is now a sub-menu with more sorting
  114.     options available (by Size, Directory, Date and Randomly).

  116.   * Pressing right on the Playlist history navigation interface
  117.     now brings you to the top of the list (the most recently
  118.     played item).

  120.   * New "Navigation Style" Navigation interface, allowing the
  121.     navigation skin to be replaced from within the navigation
  122.     interface itself.

  124.   * New "Open Navigator" button on the Media Library Path Editor.

  126.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface / Video / Aspect Ratio)
  127.     instructing Zoom Player "Derived" Aspect Ratio mode to Automatically
  128.     Adjust (fix) the Aspect Ratio for badly encoded content.
  129.     This would convert 4:3 content encoded as 720x480 to display as 720x540,
  130.     720x576 to 768x576, 352x240 to 352x264, 352x288 to 384x288, etc...
  131.     Badly encoded 16:9 content is also adjusted in a similar fashion.
  132.  
  133.     This setting also fixes small aspect ratio inaccuracies caused by a
  134.     requirement made by video encoders for the video pixel width or height
  135.     to be dividable by 16 (or 8 or 4).
  136.  
  137.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display /
  138.     Fullscreen Navigation) allowing you to skip the "Library Filter Mode"
  139.     page.  With this setting enabled, navigating left on the media library
  140.     category list will go straight to the Main navigation menu.
  141.  
  142.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface) allowing you to disable the
  143.     delete key from erasing the currently playing file.
  144.  
  145.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display /
  146.     Full Screen Navigation) restoring the ability to "Play all
  147.     files in this Directory" from the main file list (file and
  148.     media library navigators).
  149.  
  150.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Interface / On Screen Display /
  151.     Full Screen Navigation) allowing you to highlight previously
  152.     viewed files.  This setting with the "remember last
  153.     media position" setting (Adv. Options / Playback) and will
  154.     highlight any previously viewed file in the Media and File
  155.     Navigation interfaces by making its icon semi-transparent.
  156.     Please note that this feature can tax the CPU if the play
  157.     history (generated by remembering the last media position)
  158.     is over a few 100 files.
  159.  
  160.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Playback / Video) allowing you
  161.     to automatically hide Closed Captions when playing media
  162.     files.
  163.  
  164.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Playback) allowing you to set the
  165.     "On Play Complete" event (which triggers when a playlist has
  166.     finished playing) to "Randomize & Replay", which gives you
  167.     another random play method.
  168.  
  169.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Playback) allowing you to limit
  170.     remembering the last media position to media files longer than
  171.     a specified amount of minutes.  This is useful when you don't want
  172.     the last media position remembered when playing short media files.
  173.  
  174.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / Playback / Audio & Subtitles) allowing
  175.     you play media files with the subtitles not showing by default.
  176.  
  177.   * New "Guard Dog" feature (Adv. Options / System).
  178.     When enabled, the Guard Dog periodically tests that the Zoom Player
  179.     process is responding.  If the process stops responding for a
  180.     specified number of seconds, the Guard Dog will close the player and
  181.     start a new instance using a specified command line parameter list.
  182.  
  183.   * New Setting (Adv. Options / System & Files / Paths, Folders
  184.     and Files), allowing you to select the Frame Capture (screenshot)
  185.     format.  BMP, PNG and JPEG are supported.
  186.  
  187.   * New Auto-Segment load setting (Adv. Options / System & Files /
  188.     Paths, Folders and Files), allowing you to match file names
  189.     automatically by how similar they are.  Press the "?" button
  190.     for more details on how the matching works.

  192.   * New Function (fnBlankMonitors) assigned to the Alt+Shift+"K"
  193.     keyboard macro, allowing you to manually toggle blanking
  194.     (black-out) of non-playing monitors.  The automatic-blanking
  195.     of non-playing monitors is accessible through the options
  196.     dialog (Adv. Options / System - Blank non-Playing Monitors
  197.     while in Fullscreen / Zoom mode).

  199.   * New Function (fnFSActMonitor) assigned to the Alt+Shift+"Enter"
  200.     keyboard macro, allowing you to go fullscreen on the currently
  201.     active monitor, overriding the fullscreen to monitor "X" setting.

  203.   * New "fnPosToClipboard" function (Alt+Ctrl+"C") allowing you to copy
  204.     the current playing position to the windows clipboard (which can then
  205.     be pasted in another program).

  207.   * The Zoom Player function selection dialog is now split into three
  208.     categories: Content, Interface and Control.  The function list is
  209.     also sorted, making functions easier to find.

  211.   * New Vista specific feature allowing you to make the entire
  212.     Zoom Player window semi-transparent.  This also requires that
  213.     you use a video renderer that would work (Haali's/VMR9/EVR)
  214.     and that VISTA Aero is enabled.  To use:
  215.     Alt+Ctrl+F4 = Fully visible window.
  216.     Alt+Ctrl+F5 = 80% visibility.
  217.     Alt+Ctrl+F6 = 60% visibility.
  218.     Alt+Ctrl+F7 = 40% visibility.

  220.     You can also specify exact transparency values using the new
  221.     "exTransWin" extended function.

  223.   * New "exTransWin" extended function, allowing you to specify
  224.     a transparency value (1-255) for the Zoom Player window.
  225.     This function requires Windows VISTA with Aero enabled.

  227.   * New "exRandomPlay" extended function, allowing you to discretely
  228.     set the Random Play setting to on/off (compared to the fnRandomPlay
  229.     function which toggle between on/off).

  248.     create one (using the default configuration).

  288.     allowing you to divide the active monitor into columns and rows which can
  289.     be used to position the player window.  The "/nRows" defines the number
  290.     of rows, "/nCols" defines the number of columns, "/Col" defines the
  291.     active column (starting with column "0") and "/Row" defines the active
  292.     row (starting with row "0").

  395.   * The DVD AutoGraph script format now supports a parameter that
  396.     connects the Video Decoder's Subpicture pin to the Video Renderer
  397.     directly (to support DXVA with subtitles).

  399.   * New "1130" CommAPI command that retrieves the currently playing frame rate
  400.     per second (FPS).  This is the same value seen on the information dialog
  401.     ("I" keyboard macro).

  403.   * New "1140" CommAPI command that retrieves that estimated frame rate per
  404.     second (FPS).  This value is not 100% accurate as some formats do not
  405.     have a fixed frame rate or simply do not report a frame rate.  In cases
  406.     where the real FPS is unattainable, an estimated FPS value is returned.
  407.  
  408.   * New "1811" CommAPI command allowing you to retrieve the number of items
  409.     in the current playlist.  This message is also shown when the playlist
  410.     item count is modified.

  416.   + The Color Control and Equalizer navigation interfaces have been
  417.     redesigned to take less screen space.
  418.  
  419.   + The default skin is now selected directly from the skin list,
  420.     (as the first skin listed) instead of clicking on the default
  421.     skin button.

  423.   + The skin selection interface is now sorted alphabetically.

  425.   + The skin selection interface behavior has been changed slightly.
  426.     In order to apply a custom tint, you must now click the Apply Tint

  454.     paths.  For example:

  456.     Instead of :

  458.     The default values have been updated and you can use the new
  459.     default button to set them.

  461.   + The ".iso" and ".img" extensions have been moved from the executable
  462.     extension list into the archive extension list.  With the latest
  463.     version of 7-Zip (www.7-zip.org) installed, you can now extract
  464.     and play CD/DVD images directly from within Zoom Player.  Make sure
  465.     to press the default buttons (Adv. Options / System / File Extensions).

  467.   + The Main Navigation interface should appear much quicker now,
  468.     especially when accessed while a video is playing.
  469.  
  470.   + The "/X", "/Y", "/W" and "/H" command line parameters now
  471.     function even if Zoom Player is already running, allowing
  472.     you to re-position & size the main user interface window
  473.     from the command line (previously, these parameters only
  474.     worked when initially running Zoom Player).

  476.   + The Media Library and File Browser navigation functions have been
  477.     re-ordered for increased usability.

  536.   - A bug in the archive extracting code could cause extracted
  537.     archive to extract in the wrong directory under some conditions.

  539.   - When random play was enabled and only one file was playing,
  540.     the "On Play Complete" event was called if the same file was
  541.     opened twice.
  542.  
  543.   - When extracting and playing the content of an archive file, the
  544.     first file in the archive would be loaded twice in succession.
  545.  
  546.   - Setting a custom aspect ratio with a "0" value could cause
