  5. ---INSTALLATION---------------------------------------------

  7. You can build a bootable program floppy disk or CD/DVD
  8. with this software package by doing the following: 
  9.  
  10. WINDOWS 9x/Me/NT/2000/XP
  11.     Extract the files of the package into a directory
  12.     of your choice and use INSTALL.EXE to create a
  13.     bootable floppy disk or CD/DVD.
  14.  
  15. UNIX/Linux
  16.     This package contains a floppy image (HDCLONE.IMG)
  17.     and an ISOimage (HDCLONE.ISO). From these you can
  18.     create a bootable medium under most Linux systems
  19.     by doing the following:
  20.     At first, extract the software package to a folder
  21.     of your choice. From there, open a terminal window
  22.     and use one of the following commands:
  23.     - Bootable floppy: "dd if=hdclone.img of=/dev/fd0" or
  24.                        "dd if=hdclone.img of=/dev/floppy"
  25.     - Bootable CD/DVD: "cdrecord hdclone.iso"
  26.  
  27. OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS
  28.     This package contains a floppy image (HDCLONE.IMG)
  29.     and an ISOimage (HDCLONE.ISO). Use an appropriate
  30.     program to write them on floppy disk or CD/DVD.

  36. ---PROGRAM STARTUP------------------------------------------

  38. Insert floppy disk or CD/DVD into a bootable drive and
  39. restart the computer. Ensure in the BIOS that it will boot
  40. from this drive. HDClone will then be loaded automatically
  41. when starting the PC.

  44. ---DISK LABEL-----------------------------------------------

  46. The file DISKLABEL.BMP contains a floppy disk label for
  47. HDClone. You can print it out and use it for labeling
  48. the program disk (optimized for 5 cm x 7 cm).
