  17.         is going to be a moving target!  ;-)

  19. Aug 15, 2004    The site for EXTended info made a format change, so
  20.         I needed to update getting the info.
  21.         Also took another look at WAV to MP3. Had some problems
  22.         there that needed to be addressed.
  23.         Thank you for your patience with me putting out new
  24.         versions.  It continues to be a challenge to work
  25.         on Zlurp!

  28.         Well, fixed one problem and caused another! Fixed
  29.         the "outta Space" error for lots of free space, but
  30.         broke the space check for when you don't have much
  31.         free space. So...here's the fix for THAT! D'oh!

  34.         More testing testing!  Your help has made all the
  35.         difference in getting this next version out.

  38.         Still having some installation goofiness at times.
  39.         I am working on that.  If you have had any trouble,
  40.         many people have had success by starting in safe
  41.         mode and installing Zlurp then.  There must be
  42.         some software running on a regular boot that is
  43.         interfering with Zlurp getting info about your
  44.         CD rom drives.

  46.         Fixed many problems that getting EXTended info was
  47.         causing behind the scenes.  And heaven help you if
  48.         you were trying to find EXT info where the album
  49.         name was the same as the artist name!  But that is
  50.         all good now.

  52.         One other intermittent bug is that occasionally 
  53.         Zlurp will go south when it is writing out a tag at 
  54.         the end of ripping a song.  I haven't been able to 
  55.         catch this in the act yet to debug, but I haven't 
  56.         given up.

  59.         Testing testing!  First pass at Win2000/XP support.
  60.         Don't expect the world on a platter!  (but it would
  61.         be nice!)

  63.         Will be putting this 1.9 version out for bug testing
  64.         for a while, then will make any fixes and put out
  65.         a solid 2.0 version.

  67.         So far there has been some goofiness seen on Win2000.
  68.         It seems to be connected to the first time Zlurp! is
  69.         fired up.  So before you give up, go in and check the
  70.         settings, hit apply, quit out and start Zlurp! again.
  71.         Things should work better.  I don't have a Win2K
  72.         system set up yet to do my own testing, so you will
  73.         have to bear with me until I get it set up.

  75.         Zlurping on Win 98 should still work ok, but 98 bug
  76.         testing obviously will not be the main focus at this 
  77.         point.  No going back now!

  87.         can't find info on, drop me a note and tell me
  88.         what it was.  I only have so many CDs to test with!

  92.         Hello my patient Zlurpers!
  93.         Good news - I've taken out the expiration date.  Now you 
  94.         will always have a fully working cow.  To automatically 
  95.         check for a new version when you fire Zlurp up, go to the 
  96.         General Settings and check the "Notify of Zlurp Update".

  98.         There have been a few large changes in the outside world
  99.         since I've done major work on Zlurp!  CDDB has gone away.  
  100.         Bye bye!  I had some fundamental differences with the CDDB▓ 
  101.         people's philosophy, so Zlurp will be using the freeDB 
  102.         database exclusively.  I have some more testing to do on 
  103.         that code, so please let me know if there are any problems 
  104.         finding your CD's track names.

  106.         The other main issue is that CDNow was bought by 
  107.         Amazon.com.  Zlurp would get EXTended info from them.  
  108.         I've switched to using CDUniverse, but the interface isn't 
  109.         quite finished.  Rats!  But I figured all you loyal Zlurp 
  110.         fans would want a working Zlurp as soon as possible.  
  111.         So, EXTended info is temporarily disabled.

  113.         The next goals are: 
  114.         Version 1.3 will have EXTended info back.
  115.         Version 2.0 will have Win2000/WinXP support!  Yay!

  117.         Finally, I had to redo the installer from scratch because
