  12.     DBAN is now wrapped in a winimage self extractor. This will make
  13.     things
  14.     easier for those who prefer GUI apps.
  15.     To use this option:
  16.            1. Place a floppy in your a: drive.
  17.            2. Click on the Start button and then choose Programs->Eraser->
  18.            Create Boot Nuke Disk.
  19.            3. Ensure 'Writing on Floppy' is ticked.
  20.            Tick 'Formatting' if your floppy needs to be formatted.
  21.            4. Click OK.
  22.            Result: Your Boot Nuke Disk has now been created.
  23.            5. Boot up your PC with the floppy still remaining in your a: drive.
  24.            Result: All drives will now be erased.
  25.            IMPORTANT: USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION

  28.     1. Eraser now includes 'Darik's Boot and Nuke' disk. There is a new
  29.     directory under Eraser called 'boot'.
  30.     For a summary:
  31.     'Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot floppy that
  32.     securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will
  33.     automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk
  34.     that
  35.     it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or
  36.     emergency data destruction.'

  40.        Eraser giving (null) when clicking on recycle bin was due to it
  41.        not finding eraser in long installed pathnames.

  76.         After testing with the windows installer we concluded that
  77.         1. There are still too many users without the windows installer.
  78.         2. Installing the installer runtime is a major download.
  79.         3. Many users did not know what to do with an .msi file
  80.     2. Import/export/save dialogs no longer worked with C++7. Fixed
  81.     3. EraserD was compiled with VC8 which we did not have so after
  82.        scouring the net the digital mars compiler was found. See

  84.        well. I was amazed that we could recompile with little effort.For
  85.        the dos version many users have asked for the ability to bootup
  86.        a machine and erase it from the floppy.
  87.        We are experimenting with creating a FAT32 boot disk using
  88.        FreeDOS see http://www.freedos.com this would allow you to
  89.        erase > 2gig partitions.
