  1. DivX DVD Ripper : DVD to DivX/VCD/SCVD/AVI converter

  3.   DDR allows you to convert DVD to DivX/VCD2.0/SVCD1.0/AVI in one step (Including 
  4.   multiplexing, splitting). It produces good quality movies in AVI/MPEG1/2 format 
  5.   and you don't need to have 5Gb free on your hard disk !
  6.   DDR has been tested on Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP

  8. What do you need ?

  11.   -DirectX 8.1 or later
  12.   -A CDROM burning tool to write your VCD/SVCD (VcdEasy, VcdWizard)
  13.   -Adaptec ASPI Driver (4.60 highly recommended)
  14.   -Eventualy a DVD player (like WinDVD or PowerDVD)

  22. About Adobe Premiere Plugins:
  23. =============================

  25.   -To install an encoder for Premiere , Run the plugin setup and Select
  26.    the directory where DVDx files have been copied.
  27.    If you update a plugin, to avoid a conflict, you should remove 
  28.    the old windows registry database entry where plugin setting are storred :
  29.      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DDR\Output_Setting\PlugSetting\a_plugin.prm
  30.      where a_plugin.prm is the old plugin name.

  32.   -Multi PASS with an external encoder:
  33.    The multi pass allows the video stream to be read 2 times. This features
  34.    has been tested with TMPGEnc (client of AVISynth) when making 2Pass VBR.
  35.    When this flag is checked: 
  36.     For the first pass the decoder is initialised in VIDEO_PASS. For all other
  37.     following pass the decoder is reinited in DUAL_PASS (Audio + Video)

  39. About the Edwin Van Eggelen's Frame server:

  42.   DDR has been tested with the Video Server v0.90/91/92/93
  43.   plugin and TMPGEnc as client. It's an easy way to use an
  44.   external encoder with DDR. An very small.AVI  file which can be 
  45.   opened by a standalone encoder is created.

  47.   To use this frame server you have 2 step:
  48.   1) Install the Video Video Server package
  49.   2) Install the video server plugin/codecs which allows DVDx
  50.      to deal with the Frame Server.  Get the cm-videoserver.prm
  51.     (from PremiereVideoServerPluginv093.zip) file and copy it in 
  52.     the DDR directory.

  57. Known problems:
  58. ==============
  59.  
  60.   -LSX, Panasonic MPEG and CinemaCraft Encoder plugin for Premiere work with
  61.    DDR but only in RGB32 format.
  62.  
  63.   -Some newer versions of premiere plugins may not work.
  64.  
  65.   -You can read file bigger than 2Gb (on DVD or HDD) only if you have the WNASPI
  66.    driver installed.
  67.  
  68.   -You get bad looking subtitle when you open VOB files. This is due to missing
  69.    color subtitle palette (stored in IFO file).

  71.   -You get the error "The ordinal 11 could not be located in the dynamix link library 
  72.    DSOUND.dll" when DirectX 8.1 is not installed
  73.  
  74.   -You get the error "WNASPI Driver initialisation failed" or "WNASPI32.DLL not found"
  75.    when ASPI is not installed or when you have a too old ASPI driver.

  77.   -you may get "Too much samples" error when encoding NTSC DVD, I never experienced
  78.    personaly this problem. So i add a flag to force 24Hz. Hope it helps.

  80.   -Authentification may not work (auth.dll) (you may need a DVD player to unlock the drive).

  82.   -You may get an audio/video synch problem if you rip the totality of the dvd.
  83.    It's due to audio blank located at beggining of movie (often during
  84.    of beetween advertisement). You may also get "Samples not found or audio decoding 
  85.    error". So start rip from the beginning of the movie or check Audio/Video synch to
  86.    avoid this.

  88.   -You may get tick (rarely) in the sound if you use the Audio/Video synchronistaion
  89.  
  90.   -SVCD may go out of sync when burned with Nero, use Vcdeasy in that case.

  93. About language file:

  96. To keep backward compatibilty of language file, all missing lines will be replaced 
  97. automaticaly by the default language. So for maintenance of your language file you
  98. just have to look at the end of each section in the last "lang_eng.txt" : all
  99. new control , menu , message will be added at the end of a section.
