  85.     <h2>Eraser Tool</h2>
  86.     <p>This tool is useful for erasing parts of the image. Note, however, that 
  87.     it works by marking areas of a layer as being transparent. This may result 
  88.     in a checkerboard pattern being shown. This pattern is simply used to 
  89.     indicate areas of the image that are transparent -- it is not actually part 
  90.     of the image.</p>
  91.     <p>MS Paint's eraser tool works by painting with white. If this is the 
  92.     behavior that you want, we recommend that you use the Paintbrush tool and 
  93.     select white as the color to draw with in the <a href="ColorsWindow.html">
  94.     Colors Window</a>.</p>
  95.     <p>This tool is also useful while working with multiple layers. If you have 
  96.     portions of a layer that you want to show through to the front layers, you 
  97.     can use the eraser tool on those front layers.</p>
  98.     <p>In the following example, a picture of a squirrel was taken, and then 
  99.     everything except the squirrel was erased. A blue background was then placed 
  100.     behind the squirrel by creating a new layer, filling it with blue using the 
  101.     Paint Bucket tool, and then pressing the Move Layer Up button to place the 
  102.     layer behind the squirrel.</p>
