  3. Password Safe 2.13 Release Note - September 2005
  4. ================================================

  6. This note describe the new features, fixed bugs and known problems
  7. with Password Safe version 2.13. For a short description of Password
  8. Safe, please see the accompanying README.txt file. For more
  9. information on the product and the project, please visit
  10. http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net. Details about changes to previous
  11. releases may be found in the file ChangeLog.txt.

  13. This release fixes a crash that would occur if the database were locked
  14. while one or more groups were expanded. Thanks to Nigel Pentland for help
  15. in fixing this.

  17. Bugs fixed in 2.13:

  19. [1275880,1275041,1280378] No longer crashes upon unlock if groups were
  20. expanded at lock time.

  65. 'read-only' checkbox. Useful if user wants this to be the default.

  67. kept on a single line (aids editing & sorting). (*)

  97. front, if obscured by other applications.

  106. When saving a database, the previous version, if one exists, will be
  107. renamed with the ".dat~" suffix. This provides some minimal automatic
  108. backup.

  112. [1077638] The size of the help file was reduced by using graphics
  113. with fewer colors.
  114. [1082510] Improvements to Find dialog: No longer obscures parent, last
  115. searched text remembered.
  116. [1090153] Pressing Delete in Find dialog no longer deletes an entry.
  117. [1074014] Silly message no longer displayed upon drag&drop of a file
  118. onto main window.

  123. database - only the first instance will be able to modify the database,
  124. unles explicitly opened read-only.

  129. minute.

  142. [885984,722646] It is now possible to merge two different databases (File->Merge)

  144. entry can now be configured (via Manage->Misc): Either copy the
  145. password to the clipboard or edit/view the entry.
  146. [] The Import from text function is now more flexible: the field
  147. separator can be configured, and the imported entries may be under a
  148. common group or not.
  149. [] It is now possible to import text files exported by KeePass.
  150. [] The English online help file has been rewritten.

  152. Known Problems:
  153. ===============
  154. [879400] A category cannot be dragged to the top level. Workaround:
  155. Edit the Group field of the categories entries. For example, to make
  156. category "b" a top level category instead of under "a", change all
  157. its entries Group fields from "a.b" to "b".
