Synapse is Copyright 2002 Intelligent Media Group, Inc.
So what is this whole Synapse thing? What have I gotten myself into here?
Well, for starters, Synapse is the new MP3 player around. And new things
are always better. So why is it better? The Brain. Black Jesus. Dynamic
components. Complete customization.
The Brain. It learns and stuff. Everytime you play a song in Synapse, it's
taking notes. It's figuring out what songs you like and what patterns you like
to listen to your music in. But it doesn't just count how many times you play
songs. If you think that, we're insulted. The Brain is the product of three
months of thinking and talking and coding and eating Romeo's chicken finger
calzones. It's all math -- scary, scary math. But when you activate the Brain
and it plays back exactly the songs you wanted to hear, you'll understand. It's
a beautiful thing, and it definitely blows random shuffle out of the water.
Black Jesus. Filenames, ID3v1 and ID3v2 -- it's a mess. Fortunately, we
have the Black Jesus algorithm to fix things up. It goes through your files
and figures out what they're actually supposed to be called. This not only
makes your collection a lot cleaner, but it makes searching for the songs you
want to hear easier. And best of all, it takes less than a minute to alias all
your songs, not 20 seconds a song like MoodLogic. Oh, but you have 5000 MP3s?
No problem. Black Jesus will tear it up, especially if you have one of those
nice new shiny processors. They're pretty.
Dynamic components. If you're a fan of playlists, you're probably going to
enjoy the five dynamic components that come standard with Synapse. First,
there's the library, which allows you to quickly search for the songs you want to
hear. Then there's the playlist as you have come to love it with a few added
features and there's the playmap, a completely new type of playlist. We also
have a natural language console, where you can type things like "play some system
of a down songs" and it will do just that. And we've got the Brain Web
Interface, a powerful web server to show you exactly how the Brain sees your
collection. And maybe there are some more on the way. Who knows?
Complete customization. Skins, plugins, what else can we hit you with?
How about Brain plugins -- addons that use the Brain SDK. What about neurons?
These are pieces of code that are incorporated directly into the intelligence
of Synapse. Did someone say languages? yup. People can even make up their own
languages (I don't know why, but hey...whatever floats your boat, man) and have
the natural language console understand them. Make Synapse your own. It wants
to be dominated. The Brain told me this.
In conclusion, Synapse is the most intelligent media player you're probably
ever going to find. Every part of it interfaces with the Brain and Black Jesus
to give you a clean and all around stellar listening experience. So why are you
sitting around reading this? Use it. Go!
