  26. One of the nice things about building a browser on top of the
  27. Internet Explorer engine is that I don't have to worry about
  28. web navigation and HTML rendering. The downside is that NetCaptor
  29. can inherit some of IE's security weaknesses, including a 
  30. recent vulnerability described here:

  36. At its core, this vulnerability is caused by the execution 
  37. of one of several protocols (ms-its, ms-itss, its, mk, mhtml) that 
  38. don't serve a practical purpose in a browser. We have 
  39. disabled/blocked these protocols in NetCaptor 7.5.2 so it is not 
  40. vulnerable to the same exploits as Internet Explorer.

  42. NOTE - one vulnerability requires a "Web Page Dialog" to be 
  43. launched. NetCaptor's PopupCaptor will generally block these, 
  44. so you must bypass or turn-off PopupCaptor if you wish to view
  45. any of the proof-of-concept pages that demonstrate the exploit.

  58. *** FREE VERSION USERS: The free version of NetCaptor no longer 
  59. downloads text ads from the internet. Instead, it will display 
  60. sometimes display a list of "Related Searches" in the ad bar. 
  61. These keywords are taken from a list that lives inside NetCaptor 
  62. and it creates the displayed list by analyzing the page 
  63. you are viewing. If you click a link, it will take you to our 
  64. search page. We think you'll like this new ad system.

  66. FEATURES
  67. * New "Add Favorite Here" feature makes it easy to add a Favorite
  68.   to any Favorites or Links folder with one click.
  69. * Expandable CaptorGroups. You have to try this to appreciate it.
  70.   Click "Expand CaptorGroups" in the CG menu. NetCaptor will
  71.   "expand" your groups so you can open the whole thing or
  72.   individual groups with a single click.
