  19.  * You can now select an alternative DVD Navigator filter when using
  20.    Customized DVD Playback mode.  Currently supported are the
  21.    Microsoft, InterVideo and Cyberlink filter (previously, only the
  22.    Microsoft filter was used).  However!  Both the Cyberlink and the
  23.    InterVideo filters are SERIOUSLY flawed.  If you use either one,
  24.    expect problems.
  25.  
  26.  * You can now define a Customized Video Renderer when using
  27.    Customized Media and DVD Playback.  This is useful when using
  28.    a customized rendering device.
  29.  
  30.  * Zoom Player now incorporates a new DSP engine filter courtesy
  31.    of Milenko Mitrovic (DCoder).  Right now it's charge of the
  32.    Internal Equalizer, PreAmp controls ("Q" on the Keyboard or
  33.    the EQ button on the GUI), Audio ReSync and Audio Track
  34.    Identification (Matroska/OGG) and Switching (Any multi-track
  35.    audio format).  But I'm hoping to expand it to support user
  36.    controlled DSP and Visualization plugins.

  38.    This filter is enabled by default, but if you installed any of
  39.    the beta version and didn't enable it, you need to enable the
  40.    filter support under "Options / Filter Control / Settings".
  41.    You will also be prompted for this when opening the EQ dialog.
  42.  
  43.  * New skin grouping code that allows you to segment the skin
  44.    code into groups and then select which groups are active at
  45.    any one time.  This allows you to create modular skins, skins
  46.    with different color sets that can be toggled through a button
  47.    on the skin itself, or even an internal minimalistic skin.
  48.  
  49.  * New Internal minimalistic skin ("F4" on the keyboard or the
  50.    inner-arrowish button on the top of the default skin).  Switching
  51.    to this skin hides nearly all of the user interface elements,
  52.    making it ideal if you quickly want to pin the video in the
  53.    corner of the screen (remember, by default holding ctrl while
  54.    dragging with the left mouse clicked will move the entire window).
  55.    This new skin is created using skin groups and you can see how it
  56.    works by viewing the default.skn file in any text editor.

  58.  * 4 new "ex" functions allowing you to toggle, enable or disable
  59.    skin groups for the active skin, open "default.key" file in any
  60.    text editor for more information.  There's also some examples in
  61.    the default skin and some more background in the Brownish.skn file.

  64.    "default.key" file in any text editor for more information.

  79.    easier to access the Play List Editing functions.

  81.  * New "Play all files in this Directory" meta tags on the File and
  82.    Media Library Navigators allowing people using a remote to skip

  85.  * Two new functions "fnResyncAhead" (Shift+"+") and "fnResyncBack"
  86.    (Shift+"-") allowing you to dynamically resync the Audio in 10ms

  97.    so make sure you use at least version 0.99 of this filter.

  99.  * New Definition File function "SetBalance" allowing you to set
  100.    the Audio LEFT/RIGHT balance.  There's an additional
  101.    "SaveBalance" function to be used with the "zplayer.zdf" file
  102.    which instructs Zoom Player as to which values are automatically
  103.    saved in Definition Files.

  126.    For example, you could use one decoder entry to use a specific
  127.    decoder for "TS/TP" MPEG2 Transport files, another decoder
  128.    for "MPG/M2V" for standard MPEG2 decoding such as SVCD and yet
  129.    a third decoder for "VOB" to be used on extracted DVD Content.

  131.    To associate forced extensions, open up the decoder entry and
  132.    click on the advanced button, from there you can easily add
  133.    extensions.  Only these extensions would be played by this
  134.    entry.  Duplicate the entry and use a different set of
  135.    extensions and filter profiles as you see fit.

  137.  * New "Filter Properties" button on the Customized Media Playback
  138.    Audio and Video Decoder profile editor allowing you to open
  139.    the filter property page of the selected filter (may not work
  140.    with all filters as some require a Playing File).

  142.  * When saving Zoom Player Play Lists (ZPL), the last played item
  143.    is remembered and restored once the lists are reloaded
  144.    (Can be disabled under "Options / Settings / Playback").

  146.  * New "DefaultSettings.exe" Mini-Utility to reset the Zoom Player
  147.    registry settings in case you need to return Zoom Player to its

  155.  * Automatic Support for Gabest AVI Splitter when dealing with
  156.    incomplete AVI files.  For this to work, you must have the
  157.    filter registered and the Load Incomplete AVI Files setting
  158.    enabled (Only on Professional version).  The benefit of
  159.    Gabest' filter is that it allows you to seek in the middle
  160.    of AVI files even without seeking to keyframes.  You may
  161.    see corrupt motion vectors until a key frame is reached,
  162.    but at least seeking is instantaneous.

  165.  * Along with Dimitar Pankov, I've formulated a structure in which
  166.    Masked Automatic Segment loading works.  By specifying a mask
  167.    string, you can control how additional Media File Segments will
  168.    be loaded automatically into the Play List.

  170.    The formula is pretty flexible, allowing you to specify multiple
  171.    masks which can include both a prefix and a suffix.  For Example,
  172.    "?of" would work for "My Video 1of2.avi"  -> "My Video 2of2.avi"
  173.    "CD?" would work for "My Movie CD1.avi"   -> "My Movie CD2.avi"
  174.    "[?"  would work for "Movie [1 of 2].avi" -> "Movie [2 of 2].avi"
  175.    "(?"  would work for "Movie (1 of 2).avi" -> "Movie (2 of 2).avi"

  177.    And so forth...  Auto Segment Load is optional under
  178.    "Options / Values / Other" and can slow down play list loads when
  179.    dealing with massive play list (1000's of items, no slow down on
  180.    on small play lists).

  182.  * Zoom Player now supports Extended MultiMedia control devices such as
  183.    MultiMedia keyboards and additional buttons on explorer-type mice.
  184.    I've included a few default commands, but you can expand/modify these,
  185.    so take a look at "default.key" using a text editor.

  255.    of DirectShow means that you lose certain capabilities and stability
  256.    may be sketchy, but until such a time where there are DirectShow

  261.    to set the Equalizer Range.  The default is 12db (like WinAmp 2.xx),

  357.  + When using the Next/Previous Skip/Jump/Seek commands in DVD Mode,
  358.    the Microsoft DVD Navigator used to queue all these commands in
  359.    sequence and then perform them one after the other rather slowly,
  360.    in some cases, it may actually freeze.  I modified DVD seeking so
  361.    that instead of actually seeking after each command, Zoom Player
  362.    will queue these commands internally and not execute them until
  363.    after about 2 seconds.  Each consecutive seeking command resets
  364.    this timer, so at the end, only one seek command is being sent
  365.    to the DVD Navigator.  This actually allows for faster DVD Seeking
  366.    as the DVD Navigator isn't messing up multiple seek decoding buffers
  367.    and other nasty stuff.  This modified DVD seeking mode also applies
  368.    to seeking using the timeline.
  369.  
  370.  + Redesigned the Control Bar.  It's now more unified and the
  371.    buttons are slightly bigger.
  372.  
  373.  + Fast Forward and Rewind in DVD Mode will now work even if you
  374.    were previously paused.

  376.  + Pressing Enter on the right-pane of the File Navigator will
  377.    only open CD-ROM type devices and not hard drive in order to
  378.    prevent accidental issues where Zoom Player would search your
  379.    entire hard drive for media files.

  393.    an IFO file off the hard disk, and then pressing Stop and Play
  394.    again, the image playing from hard disk will resume, instead of
  395.    scanning the drives checked for a DVD Disc.  Pressing Stop twice
  396.    and then pressing play will search the drives as before (an OSD
  397.    message "Stop & Clear" will show on the second Stop).

  399.  + The "exDVDChapter" function has been renamed to "exChapterTrack"
  400.    and now works for both DVD and Media modes.  In DVD Mode it allows
  401.    you to key-in a two digit chapter.  In Media mode it allows you to
  402.    key-in a two digit play list track number.  This function is only
  403.    really useful for remote control devices.
  404.  
  405.  + New safty code that prevents the options dialog from opening
  406.    off-screen.  In some cases, you could have had the options
  407.    dialog moved off screen (multi-monitor display), then the next
  408.    time you'd open it, the dialog would be invisible (off-screen).

  410.  + New safety check that prevents more than 999 chapters to exist
  411.    on a DVD Title (per-DVD Specification).  May help issue with
  412.    screwed up DVXCOPY XPRESS authoring prior to version 5.2.1.

  416.  + The order Zoom Player checks for Chapter Files has been changed.
  417.    Zoom Player will first look at the specified alternative path,
  418.    then at the local path and finally at the same location as the

  422.    frame rate are playing at 29.976fps.  If the actual playback
  423.    is not at this rate, it has no real significance, however assuming
  424.    this frame rate gives a more accurate seeking.

  427.    mouse wheel will now Skip Backward/Forward, regardless
  428.    of any other mouse wheel setting.

  455.    was the ALL category association which would mean that a

  458.    of "All".

  460.  + Opening the Chapter Navigator will now highlight the current
  461.    Chapter when the Internal Zoom Player chapters are used.

  463.  + Modified the Customized Media Mode so that it could automatically
  464.    accept source filters which are also splitter filters.

  466.  + Modified the way Multi-Audio AVI/MKV/OGM is handled so that it
  467.    could copy with multiple WMA audio tracks.

  469.  + The /R parameter allowing you to change the display resolution
  470.    now accepts a 5th parameter indicating which monitor you want

  472.    "/R:(1024,768,32,85,2)" where the "2" is the second monitor.

  507.    as they do in GraphEdit, but they may still be unstable.

  509.  - Possible crash when trying to use an unsupported color control.

  511.  - Possible crash with seamless playback and overlay mixer.

  513.  - Fixed a scanline error crash if DVD Image was disabled and
  514.    an Audio-Only file was played.

  526.    lists (so that multiple entries of the same file won't be opened
  527.    at once).  Opening directories may even be a bit faster now.
