  55. 2. INSTALLATION AND USE

  58. Before installing Sygate Personal Firewall, it is recommended 
  59. that you close all other applications that may be accessing your modem
  60. drivers or network. If you have an existing firewall installed on
  61. your computer, it is strongly recommended that you uninstall the 
  62. previous Firewall program prior to installing Sygate Personal 
  63. Firewall.

  66. IMPORTANT: For ISDN via Ethernet, DSL, cable modem, you need to
  67. verify that these devices can connect to your computer through
  68. Ethernet. DirecPC users, please see the Section 5, entitled
  69. "Known Issues".

  80. There is a timeout discrepancy between the DirecPC and the Sygate
  81. Personal Firewall services. Users who utilize DirecPC should do 
  82. the following to insure smooth operation - 
  83.  
  84. 1. After installing Sygate Personal Firewall, open DirecPC. 
  85.  
  86. 2. When the Sygate Personal Firewall pop-up message asks if you 
  87. wish to allow DirecPC access to your network, place a check in the
  88. "Remember my answer and don't ask me again for this application"
  89. check box and click "Yes".

  91. 3. Close DirecPC and open again.

  115. 5. KNOWN ISSUES

  118. The following are known issues with this version of Sygate Personal
  119. Firewall 5.5. They will be addressed or fixed in later versions 
  120. of this product:

  122. * User will get continue to get frequent prompts even when
  123.   "Auto Allow Known DLLs" is enabled.
  124.  
  125. * If the host PC system has multiple network protocol drivers installed,
  126.   Sygate Personal Firewall may have significant performance impact.
  127.  
  128. * The "Block Traffic When Service Is Not Running" selection may prevent
  129.   the host PC from receiving IP address from DHCP server.
  130.  
  131. * Sygate Personal Firewall does not support Windows XP fast switch feature.
  132.  
  133. * Double click on Sygate Personal Firewall system tray icon will 
  134.   accidentally launch the log viewer.
  135.  
  136. * Sygate Personal Firewall Help does not list any available printers 
  137.   for printing.

  139. * Clicking "Managed Firewall Info..." or "Get Internet Sharing" will 
  140.   trigger Internet Connection Wizard.

  142. * Sygate Personal Firewall may prevent PocketPC to synchronize with PC 
  143.   infrared port.
