  42. Installation Files and Disk Sets

  45.  The Intelligent Updater installation disks or CD contains several  
  46.  executable files. The filenames change from week to week. They show 
  47.  the year (yyyy) the month (mm) and day (dd) that the definitions 
  48.  were released.  They also show the version number (vvv) which represents
  49.  multiple builds

  209.  3. Start Norton AntiVirus and scan your drive before you reboot
  210.     your computer to activate the new virus definitions and rebuild 
  211.     critical files.
  212.  4. Restart your computer so that Auto-Protect uses the new 
  213.     definitions.

  246.  3. Norton AntiVirus will automatically begin using the new 
  247.     definitions.

  251. X. Norton AntiVirus for Internet Email Gateways
  252. =====================================================================

  254.  IMPORTANT! It is highly recommended that you update this product
  255.  With Live Update. If you must use the Intelligent updater then follow
  256.  these instructions carefully.
  257.  
  258.  1. Go to the Start menu and select "settings\control panel".
  259.     Select "services". Find "NAV for Internet Email Gateways" in the
  260.     service list and select it, then select the "stop" button. Select
  261.     "yes" when asked to confirm.
  262.  2. From a command prompt type "yyyymmdd-vvv-X86.EXE /ieg". Remember 
  263.     the "yyyymmdd" represents the date of the definition set and the 
  264.     "vvv" represents the version number, so it will change. For example, 
  265.     the filename could be 20021231-001-X86.EXE for a December 31, 2002 
  266.     definition set.
  267.  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  268.  4. When Intelligent Updater finishes installing the definitions,
  269.     Select the "start" button to start the service again.

  321.  1. Download the file as400.zip to a PC that is able to connect to 
  322.     the AS400 server.
  323.  2. Unzip this file to a temporary location on the PC.
  324.  3. From the temporary location on the PC, use FTP to connect to the
  325.     AS400 server.  Log in as QSECOFR, or a user that has *ALLOBJ 
  326.     authority.
  327.  4. Change to Binary transfer mode. 
  328.  5. Put the files into the Incoming directory: 
  329.      /SYMANTEC/VIRUSDEFS/INCOMING
  330.  6. From the AS/400 console issue the command:
  331.      CHGOWN OBJ('/SYMANTEC/VIRUSDEFS/INCOMING/*') NEWOWN(QNOTES)
  332.     to change the owner of all the files to QNOTES.
  333.  7. Norton AntiVirus will automatically begin using the new definitions 
  334.     within 10 minutes.

  338. XIV. Norton AntiVirus 2.5 for Lotus Notes for AS/400 (iSeries)

  341.  1. Download the file is400.zip to a PC that is able to connect to 
  342.     the AS400 server.
  343.  2. Unzip this file to a temporary location on the PC.
  344.  3. From the temporary location on the PC, use FTP to connect to the
  345.     AS400 server.  Log in as QSECOFR, or a user that has *ALLOBJ 
  346.     authority.
  347.  4. Change to Binary transfer mode. 
  348.  5. Put the files into the Incoming directory: 
  349.      /OPT/SYMANTEC/VIRUSDEFS/INCOMING
  350.  6. Norton AntiVirus will automatically begin using the new definitions 
  351.     within 10 minutes.

  355. XV. Norton AntiVirus 2.5 for Lotus Notes for OS/390
  356. =====================================================================
  357.  
  358.  1. Download the file s390.zip to a PC that is able to connect to the
  359.     OS/390 server.
  360.  2. Unzip this file to a temporary location on the PC.
  361.  3. From the temporary location on the PC, use FTP to connect to the 
  362.     OS/390 server.  Log in as your domino server user.
  363.  4. Change to Binary transfer mode. 
  364.  5. Put the files into the Incoming directory: 
  365.     (Your Install Location)/Symantec/virusdefs/incoming
  366.  6. Norton AntiVirus will automatically begin using the new definitions 
  367.     within 10 minutes.

  371. XVI. Installing Virus Definition Files Manually
  372. =====================================================================
  373.  
  374.  If you do not want Intelligent Updater to install the new virus
  375.  definitions for you automatically, you can use the /DUMP command to
  376.  extract the virus definition files, then copy the appropriate files
  377.  to the virus definitions folder. 
  378.  
  379.  Installing Virus Definition Files Manually
  380.  --------------------------------------------------------------------
  381.  1. Copy the Intelligent Updater program (yyyymmdd-vvv-I16.EXE,
  382.     yyyymmdd-vvv-I161.EXE, or yyyymmdd-vvv-I32.EXE or 
  383.     yyyymmdd-vvv-X86.EXE) to an empty, temporary folder.
  384.  2. Launch the Intelligent Updater program using the /DUMP command. 
  385.     For the yyyymmdd-vvv-X86.EXE file, use the /EXTRACT command.
  386.     This will extract all the virus definitions to the folder. For 
  387.     example, type yyyymmdd-vvv-I32.EXE /DUMP to extract the files. Or 
  388.     type yyyymmdd-vvv-X86.EXE /EXTRACT [path] where path represents 
  389.     the current directory. The yyyymmdd represents the date of the 
  390.     definition set. The vvv represents the version number.  For example, 
  391.     the filename could be 20021231-001-I32.EXE for a December 31 
  392.     definition set.
  393.  3. Copy the files to the virus definition folder.  Copy the files to
  394.     this location:
  395.     C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\Incoming\
  396.  
  397.     NOTE: Copy the file ZDONE.DAT last. This file signals Norton
  398.     AntiVirus that the definition set has been completely loaded. If
  399.     it is not loaded last, it may cause errors.
