- Welcome to HORNADO - the Game, version 2.0.
-
- Changes from version 1.0:
-
- Exit the game by pressing Escape in the intro, also the normal exit button works.
- Typing "i need help" in intro activates an "easy playing mode" (more ships, don't loose weapons).
- Press K to customize your keyboard and controller buttons. In that menu you can also specify the
- starting level. You can choose any level you ever reached if not playing in easy mode.
- If music files are installed they play in the whole game.
- The game runs with normal process and thread priority, so it is strongly recommended to close all
- other applications (especially bad anti virus software).

- Requirements:
-
- For playing you need a Windows(95/98/Me/2000) platform. DirectX7 or higher must
- be installed, also a soundcard is required.
- You need "Indeo5" software for video decoding (a link can be found at the webpage).
- Only on simple configured versions of Win95/98 the codec is not installed by default!!
- Without the codec you won't see the video.
- Your computer should support MP3 codec.
- The audio and video codec must also be supported by your installation of Microsoft
- DirectShow components (for example offered with recent version of Windows Media Player).
-
-
-
- Playing:
-
- If a controller is installed, you can use it. But take care that it is a calibrated one.
- Otherwise use the keyboard. The cursor keys can be used for navigating as default.
- Use button1 or space for shooting. Left ALT-Key or button2 changes between your weapons.
- In intro you can choose either playing with keyboard or joypad. You can enable or disable
- sound and musics. And you can test and switch your speaker channel.
- When pressing K in intro you can choose the starting level (any level you ever reached).
- Press K any time to customize keyboard and joypad.
- Typing "i need help" in intro activates "easy playing mode". In that mode you will always
- start in 1st level. You have 15 ships and your weapons will never be downgraded.
-
-
-
- Hints:
-
- Many enemies (and bosses) can be easily destroyed by choosing a special weapon.
- You only collide with objects in your level of scrolling. Foreground and background objects
- don't affect the ship.
- After starting with a new ship you can fly through walls and enemies for a while. Use it
- for your advantage.
- Starting in highest level can be quite hard because you start with weak weapons. Perhaps
- it is better to start in a level where you can collect some weapons.
